The Acolyte: Destiny (2024)

Visually Stunning, But an Offense to the Star Wars Feel
16 June 2024
The third episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte delves into the origin story of the twins and their connection to the Jedi. Contrary to the backlash it has received, the episode is not as bad as some claim. While it's true that there are some subpar performances, awkward and childish dialogues, and, of course, the controversial introduction of magic.

To give some context, I didn't grow up watching Star Wars, so I don't share the intense protective sentiment that many long-time fans have. However, after watching the movies, I find the introduction of the magic concept confusing and, at times, potentially disrespectful to the established lore. That said, there are positive aspects to this episode.

The origin world of the twins is fascinating, with a visually appealing design that stands out for a series. However, even as a more casual fan, I found that it didn't evoke the Star Wars essence until near the end, feeling more like a generic fantasy series episode.

In summary, the main reason people might dislike this episode is due to its divergence from the traditional Star Wars feel, which can be offensive to those with a nostalgic attachment to the franchise. Despite this, and acknowledging that it's a challenging task, the episode isn't entirely bad. It doesn't resonate much with the franchise it derives from but offers great visuals and an interesting planet for viewers to explore.

The Beginning of the Epic!!
10 June 2024
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace tells the story of how the Republic begins to face problems. Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, are tasked with protecting Queen Padmé Amidala of Naboo in hopes of securing a peaceful resolution to an interplanetary trade dispute. Along this journey, we are introduced to the central figure of the entire franchise, Anakin Skywalker.

First, let me be clear: I didn't grow up watching Star Wars, so I don't have any nostalgic feelings towards the prequel or the original trilogy. Why am I saying this? Because it seems to me that older fans think that the reason people enjoy these movies is mainly out of nostalgia, which is not my case. Let me explain.

While the movie may come off as too goofy for an older audience (yes, I'm talking about Jar Jar Binks), I still think it holds up. We have great characters like Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Padmé, and Darth Maul, all introduced in this film. Now, we can agree that Jake Lloyd is not the best actor, but he still delivers an innocent and childlike portrayal of Anakin that I can't help but find adorable. Besides the characters, the movie features some fantastic planet designs. Have I mentioned how awesome Darth Maul and his design are? If not, let me reassure you.

And let's not forget that at this point, we have the best action scene in the entire franchise (you know which one I'm talking about). To summarize, The Phantom Menace is a great movie. It has its problems with some goofy humor, storytelling issues, and a few lackluster performances, but it still holds up as a fun family adventure with great characters and exciting galactic action.

The McConaughey Magic. Really good movie!
27 May 2024
While presenting itself in the beginning as a typical lawyer/crime movie, The Lincoln Lawyer subverts the spectator with some twists that lead us to a surprisingly good gem. You have a great cast and especially a truly brilliant performance by Matthew McConaughey. He is probably the biggest reason why this movie works so well. Don't get me wrong, we have a great cast, like Marisa Tomei, John Leguizamo, and others, but Matthew makes his character so credible and interesting to watch that he guides us through this story and makes us cheer for a controversial protagonist.

To conclude, The Lincoln Lawyer is a great movie, carried by its strong cast, and has a story that may not be the greatest or the most original one, but is good enough to keep us entertained until the end. It's worth the time!

Cold Case: Fly Away (2003)

Incredible episode!
26 August 2023
I remember watching some episodes of "Cold Case" when I was a child, but not very frequently. I think that because of that, I never really considered the series to that good - just something fun. However, upon rewatching it now, I can confidently say that I'm really enjoying it and even surprised by the quality. This episode serves as a perfect example of that. With a devastating story that genuinely touches our hearts with every twist it takes, it takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions. Even the actors, who in some episodes might not be the most convincing, are truly exceptional in this one. I find it particularly interesting how they begin to delve into Lilly's past in this episode. That being said, I genuinely believe that, up to this point, this has been the best episode.

Cold Case: Look Again (2003)

A good pilot episode
24 August 2023
It's a great example of how to make a pilot episode. The case is simple but intriguing, holding our attention until the end, while the series introduces us to the great cast of characters in an efficient and enjoyable way (featuring one of the best female protagonists of all time). One of the most brilliant things about the whole series is how they cleverly transition between the younger and older cast members (it's incredible how they also find actors who look alike). In conclusion, Cold Case was a great show back then, and it continues to be one, adding to the nostalgia factor. This pilot episode serves its purpose in an efficient way.

Besides being heartbreaking, there is some informations that are at least questionable
4 September 2022
On paper it's nice to see feldman's great effort to bring out the truth, but when you do a little research work, you'll find that there are many things in this documentary that are simply not true. To be clear, I would never doubt the abuse Corey Feldman says he suffered, and I just felt sorry for him, but when he talks about Corey Haim's life, by the way, half the documentary is about him, some things just don't add up. , that said, the scenes in which it shows the 80s and the fever of the two coreys are really nostalgic and sad to watch, another thing that should be mentioned is that in no other galaxy this documentary needed 10 million dollars to make. On top of all that, I have to admit that the final scene is heartbreaking. I can recomend this, but be aware, that there are many lies in this documentary.

besides being very long and having many script problems, I still found it very pleasant
4 September 2022
The movie doesn't seem to care to give some answers, for example why the two characters have switched bodies, or worse, it doesn't make any sense that feldman's character doesn't want to go back to normal during practically the entire movie, but at the end , conveniently, they end up switching bodies again and TADAM, was he just kidding? It makes no sense. That said, I still found the movie very funny, the cast is fun, especially feldman and haim who have a very good screen chemistry, but the other actors also try hard to deliver something, the script that really doesn't help. Anyway, as much as the reviews for it are disastrous, when I put aside all the inconsistencies of the script, and there are many, many, it ended up being a fun movie.

Horrible movie, but a hardworking cast
4 September 2022
I haven't read the book, but still the movie just isn't good. It tries do be funny, and scary at the same time, but it ended up being nothing, the cast it's ok, but there are so many shameful scenes, most because the scrip it's so bad, that not even the greatest could have done a good job, that being said i still think that the the scenes where corey is with the dog, are really fun to watch because incredibly that ended up having a realy good chemistry. The creature it's so embarassing that for me the director was not showing it beacuse he was just embareced. So to end i can just recomend this movie if you are a fan of corey haim like myself, if so then you will find interest to watch him in such a diferent movie.
