A Whitewater Romance (2024)
Horrific
I'd give this movie zero stars, but unfortunately that's not an option, so one star it is. I watch every new Hallmark movie that comes out with my 98 year old grandmother whom I care for. So being a 41 year old man, Hallmark movies aren't so much my thing, but I've come to start enjoying them. Well, most of them. This movie without a doubt, is the most cheesy unbelievable one I've watched in years. Grandma who loves absolutely everything Hallmark and smiles the whole time she watches them hasn't even grinned once, lol. Yes, it's that bad. Busby (spelling?) is playing the same character she plays in every role she has ever played, but it's even more cringy this time some how. There's no chemistry whatsoever between her and the lead male. Her character is so unlikeable, yet he somehow falls for her, of course. The entire story line is poorly written, and the acting from the other characters matches it. I get Hallmark movies aren't always believable, that they're supposed to be kind of out there and uplifting and fairytale-ish, this one fell well short of even that. On somewhat of a separate note, Hallmark rub some dang dirt on your actors! People don't camp out in the wilderness for days at a time without a spec of dirt on them or a hair out of place. I'm basically just ranting at this point so I'll wrap it up, I wouldn't wish the viewing of this movie on my worst enemy. Save your self the time and skip this one! There are much more productive things to do like staring out the window and watching your lawn grow or watching paint dry.
Journey to Christmas (2023)
Pleasantly Surprised
Going into this movie I wasn't familiar with either of the main actors. I really liked both of them and hope to see more of them in the future. This movie wasn't super deep and to be honest most of these type of movies aren't lol. So for me, these movies are super hit or miss. I'm care taker for my 98 year old Grandmother whom is the reason as a 41 year old man I watch them in the first place lol. Both my grandmother and I really enjoyed this one. It was lighthearted and fun and cheery. The movie was very predictable as they all are, but that's why we watch them right?! Both of us rate the movies when we are finished watching them, and we both gave it a 9. This one is worth the watch 👍
Dream Wedding (2023)
Value Your Time & Skip This One!
I next to never write reviews for anything really. With that said, I feel like I owe it to mankind to warn them on this one. This movie from the get go, is horrifically stupid and poorly written. The plot is absolutely stupid, and the acting is terrible and there doesn't seem to be any chemistry between any of the cast. There's no music or anything to really try and help save some of the scenes. If this is what we can expect from Great American Family moving forward, we will no longer be viewers. Everyone is free to watch what they choose of course, but I'd suggest watching grass grow or paint dry before recommending anyone watch this train wreck of a movie!
Love in the Maldives (2023)
Yikes!
First of all, I base my number of stars off a combination of both my score and my grandmother's score whom I watch these movies with. I rated it a three, she rated it a five hence the official score of four. The first negative to this movie was the fact that this story line has been done before. I realize every movie is basically the same, but this had zero originality to it. Just from the drop it was hard to try and stay engaged and interested in the movie. It did have some beautiful scenery shots that were well done, but it's in the Maldives so that should basically be a given. The acting in general is the other big negative to the movie. I can't remember the main lead males name (sorry), but his acting was absolutely atrocious and came across as extremely cheesy. This movie is definitely a hard pass for both of us.
NCIS: Los Angeles (2009)
Tell Me Your Writers Hate Conservatives, Without Telling Me They Hate Conservatives
This show has gotten so liberal and political it's unreal. This last season especially was horrific. Every episode has basically become an attack on conservatives and their beliefs. People watch TV shows like this to help escape politics and to get away so to speak and relax. When every episode now is just basically attacking conservative beliefs or viewpoints in one way or another it's become unwatchable. Guess it makes sense since it's NCIS "LA" though. I won't even get into the poor acting, laughable action scenes, and terrible writing/story lines that is now this show. Shame to see what it has become.
