South Park: Joining the Panderverse (2023)
Great to see more South Park
I really enjoyed this special. The quality is up there with season 26 and it's better than The Streaming Wars, which wasn't bad by any means. The idea of the panderverse is super funny and I think it was executed well. It's great to see a show tackle the topic of the race and gender swapping of legacy characters that don't make any sense. The way it was all done was super funny. I really liked Randy and the other adults trying to get a handy man to fix their stuff for them. The catapult arriving in a box and no one knowing how to put it together is so funny. I was constantly laughing during this special and I thought everything wrapped up neatly. So I'm curious if this will get a part two like the previous specials or if the next one will be a different story?
Rick and Morty: Rick: A Mort Well Lived (2022)
It's Okay
Rick A Mort Well Lived is nothing that special in comparison to the episodes that came before it. I found it pretty boring throughout its run, especially the entire Die Hard subplot. It was sort of funny at first, but the joke gets old quick when you realize that's the entire subplot. The main plot with Roy was interesting at first, but didn't maintain its neat concept for long. I feel that there was a lot of story potential for a return to Roy, but it didn't work super well here. This episode was a large step down from last week's premiere and hopefully the next episode is better in terms of its premise and execution.
South Park: South Park: The Streaming Wars (2022)
The Weakest Special So Far
It's not South Park's best and it's the weakest of the television specials, so far. Cartman is usually a highlight of the show, but the subplot of him and his mom wasn't really interesting or even funny to watch. The comments on streaming services are funny and the special's way of portraying that is clever. I personally just didn't find it super funny, but still enjoyed it! If you're a fan of South Park, it's definitely worth the Paramount+ free trial.
