a movie worth a tear
I adore how the movie started with a brief review of June's seemingly lifelong romance leading to the sudden tragedy of her long term boyfriend's death. The story develops in an adequate pace, just enough to say that their romance wasn't rushed, and yet, wasn't a slow burn either. Although the "comforter to lover" mood is nothing unique at all, I still give it a clap for the light yet feeling deliverance upon progression. Overall, this movie makes you feel for and with the characters, and I'm really liking that.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
An honestly "okay" movie
The movie has undeniably good ratings. Having an above average rating, I was curious as to how the plot would go and transpire. I'm not really a sci-fi genre fan, nonetheless, I decided to give it a try.
Now, I genuinely don't know what others saw or felt throughout the film to think it deserved such high appraisal. It wasn't bad, it was just mediocre at best. Although it could be a fun and motivating experience to watch with your family, since the whole film revolved around the ideologies and difficulties of each member of the Wang family. Perhaps you can relate to some struggles and actually really enjoy the film. The characters are truly likeable in ways that you can feel the conflict within them- they make you understand their emptiness, like how they can be hopeless and hopeful all at once.
It generally depends on how you interpret the value of the movie. Joy's anguish and desperation to feel something- to find meaning in her otherwise pointless endeavor to live, the pain of feeling alone with nobody to understand you- even the closest to your heart, can be quite relatable to most people.
You should watch it, you might enjoy it- or not.
