And Just Like That...: Tragically Hip (2021)
It just keeps getting worse.
I really wanted to like the reboot. But so far, it is downright difficult to watch.
All of a sudden Miranda hates her life and marriage so she has to become bisexual? Come on.
Another episode lacking any substance, only including horrible writing and shoving new societal norms down our throats.
Fingers crossed I can make it through another 5 episodes of whatever you want to call this monstrosity.
And Just Like That...: Some of My Best Friends (2021)
That's it?
Although this episode isn't as cringy as others, there is little to no substance and no point to the episode. You blink and it's over. They spent all of 1 minute discussing Stanford - I'm not sure what the best way for them to address him 'leaving' (due to his real life passing), but the way they did it was NOT it. Disappointing and didn't do justice to both Willy or his character. I also am not a fan of the new Seema character either. Hoping things pick up.
And Just Like That...: When in Rome (2021)
Eh...
Here we go again with an episode of shoving "look how socially appropriate we are!" down our throats. It is good that these things are becoming more normalized on TV, but this show is trying way too hard and it makes it nearly unbearable to watch. It is borderline ruining the original series as well.
I liked the storyline of Carrie and Natasha. It seemed accurate and familiar to the original series as opposed to the rest of the show forcing gender identity, racism, etc down our throats for 47 minutes straight. I have nothing against it, but dear lord. They are executing it all so poorly.
Free Guy (2021)
Surprisingly Good
I didn't expect myself to like this as much as I did! It was so comical, heartwarming, and very interesting! Definitely worth the watch. Ryan Reynolds is the best!
And Just Like That...: Little Black Dress (2021)
UFFDA
I cried during this episode. A lot. I didn't think I would, but I did. Being a long time SATC fan, this one really stung. I think the episode was well done and I appreciate the inclusion of Samantha, even if it was something small. However, the first two episodes are really heavy on the heart.
The episode itself was really good, but I don't know if my heart can take any more Carrie and Big flashbacks. Hoping the following episodes don't make me cry again.
And Just Like That...: Hello It's Me (2021)
It could have been worse...
I loved watching the actresses and their characters return, they were accurate and their interactions felt familiar which was nice. It still gave the familiar Sex and the City feel I was hoping for.
However - they are trying WAY too hard to be 'up to date'. Podcasts, 'white savior complex', Peloton, etc. I get what they're trying to do, but it's just plain awful and difficult to watch. Highly unnecessary in my person opinion.
