I did watch all the episodes, and somehow it got tedious to the point where I didn't want to keep watching, but what the hell, I did.
This is not the best of Benedict Cumberbatch, for sure, and at times it gets annoying. The whole idea of "Eric" is never really explored, and suddenly there's a big puppet walking around. You have to infer whether this is metaphorical or if the protagonist has (and had, as is hinted) mental issues.
In parallel, there are several small stories related to the police officer who's looking for the missing kid. There are so many, but compared to the main plot, these are more captivating.
The worst part happens at the end when you find out that neither the main plot nor the side plots are substantially related or affect each other. What's more, if this was just the story of McKinley Belcher III looking for the other missing kid and his background, it would have been a decent TV show. At the end, all the "Eric" stuff is pretty useless.
