Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Absolutely hilarious, but misses the mark
This special contains many many many funny jokes, gives great commentary about the modern day political and cultural landscape, but is nowhere near Chapelles best. In fact, he stays on certain topics far too long and relies on cliche and overused jokes. But the shining bits of quality do redeem this and make it worth reccomending.
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story (2021)
Wonderful movie.
This film is about life. It is about difficult change and transition out of nowhere in important times of ones life. This film is about the not so glamorous parts of life. But it is real. It is genuine. The characters feel real. This feels like a real life experience.
Despite being a lifetime movie it is still big budget quality. Every actor plays their role just fine and even has show stopping performances. If you want a heart pulling story, this is the movie.
Bab esfanji dar Tehran (2017)
Among the worst films I've seen.
Spongebob in Tehran is among the worst films I've seen. It is an unlicensed blatant copyright violation animated terribly, put together terribly, unfinished with no effort besides getting it done.
The film has absolutely no plot past the first 25 minutes, the scenes drag for forever, and the dialogue adds little to the plot. The 2 stars is given because I liked the voice actors and believed they fit their characters, and I was able to sit through the first 26 minutes without wanting to turn it off, eventually I did finish it, but it's honestly not worth it. The Plankton parts are my favorite, they're funny and worth viewing. The rest of the film however, is just a way to get people to visit Tehran.
