Halloween Ends (2022)
Easily the worst Halloween movie ever made
This film was exactly how a film amping up the final battle between a final girl and her tormenter should not be done. A complete disservice to die-hard fans of the Halloween franchise. Just as Laurie was basically on the backburner in Kills, Michael is on the backburner in this one. Instead of focusing on the big battle between Michael and Laurie we focus on a brand new character becoming a killer. Now don't get me wrong, if we would have had him introduced in 2018, and we progressively watched him spiral. To add more salt to the wound, the characters are extremely dumb in this one. Like, it's kinda wrong to say but it wouldn't have made me mad if they died. Especially Allyson. Like, you see the mask and Laurie sobbing backing away from his body. And knowing what y'all went through immediately suspect her!?!?!? I am so glad they are done with this trilogy and they need to keep Michael dead. No weird resurrection story. Just no more Halloween films.
Pearl (2022)
I'M A STAAAAAUUUUUURRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
Mia Goth delivers an Oscar worthy performance as the title character, Pearl. The story is set in 1918, and it follows Mia Goth's Pearl as she begins to realize that there may be something real wrong with her. The cast is about the same as "X", but there are more locations. David Corenswet plays a characters titled "The Projectionist" and introduces Pearl to the world of adult films. She later cheats on her husband, Howard (serving in WW1), with The Projectionist. My personal favorite scene in the movie is Mia Goth's nearly 11 MINUTE MONOLOGUE right before she murders Mitsy, her sister-in-law. The film is filled with quotable moments such as "No! Why are you leaving me if I didn't do anything wrong? I dn't understand I thought you LIKED ME!!", "NOOO!!!!! I'M A STTTAAAAUUURRRR", and "I think there may be something real wrong with me, Mitsy." (3rd quote is what starts off Mia Goth's monologue. This movie is less sex-based than "X", but in the strangest film in the movie, and most uncomfortable, Mia Goth dry-rides a scarecrow for nearly 2 minutes. After Jordan Peele's "NOPE", "PEARL" has become my second-favorite horror film of the year.
Fall (2022)
More than meets the eye
Me and my friend went to see this thinking it would be some cheesy, B-movie. It was anything but cheesy. From start to finish, this movie had me and my friend literally sweating, gripping onto each other and gasping. And the plot twist in this movie really isn't that far-fetched. Personally, I believe this was the perfect movie for the end of summer. I was amazed at how real the tower looked, even though they used CGI. Those vultures had me and my friend literally so mad. The only thing I have to complain about with the movie, was the choice to climb up the tower. Obviously, if they didn't do that, the movie would never have been made, but speaking logically, I doubt even the biggest thrill-seaker would climb a 2000 foot tall RUSTY tower knowing you have a very high chance of falling, especially if you had a traumatic event where you lost your SO, like one of the charcters in the movie. Other then that, great film!
Riverdale: Chapter One Hundred and Eleven: Blue Collar (2022)
Better and Better
I am loving how this storyline is progressing! That ending definetly had me shook.
I think RiverVale may make a return in the finale.
The musical episode is actually going to be very interesting this season, especially considering that they weren't going to have one originally.
Riverdale: Chapter One Hundred and One: Unbelievable (2022)
Riverdale embraces the weird...
And I mean, it is a weird premiere. Throughout the show's run, we have seen the death of Jason Blossom, the Black Hood, Gryphons and Gargoyles, The Farm, Chic and Charles(One Cooper Sibling dating the one who pretended to be the other), The Voyeur, The Lonely Highway Killer, Hiram Lodge, and now The Trashbag Killer. Now, we have superpowers. Archie is invincible, Betty can sense people's auras and apparently Bingo, Archie's dog, has advanced healing abilities. That's one thing I never expected from this show. Veronica calls a hitman to kill her father, and Reggie's dad has a heart attack. Reggie tries convincing Veronica to call off the hit, but she is too late. Her hitman has already finished the job as we see an upset Veronica open what could either be an image of Hiram's corpse or a video of his death. Toni, Kevin and Fangs have a little heart-to-heart early in the episode and towards the end, Kevin watches the baby as they prepare for a war against the Ghoulies, prompted by Archie's casual recklessness. Glen gets drunk and handsy with Betty, and she punches him in the face. What Archie does to him is much worse. And in the last 30 seconds, TBK emerges from the backseat of Glen's car and murders him for trying to sexually assault Betty. Welp, there goes my prime suspect. Now, Archie has become my prime suspect. With a newfound love for Betty and his superstrength, and RAS stating that effects from RiverVale (Archie was the town's big bad) will ripple over to RiverDale in unexpected ways, he has torpedoed to the top of my list. Elsewhere, Cheryl tries to reverse Abigail's curse, but someone keeps blowing out her unwinding candles. It's Britta, possessed by Abigail. Cheryl and Nana Rose perform a banishment spell to return Abigail to the underworld. However, Nana Rose lies, and transfers Abigail into Cheryl's body. Due to Veronica's actions, Hermosa calls Veronica and says Veronica should watch her back, because blood will have blood.
Riverdale: Chapter Fifty-Seven: Survive the Night (2019)
One of my favorite episodes of Riverdale
Riverdale really knows how to excite veiwers during their final few episodes. In fact, this finale episode will go down as one of my favorite episodes of the show to date. The reveal of Penelope Blossom as the whole orchestrator of the Gryphons and Gargoyles plot line is interesting, definetely didn't expect that one. The return of Hal Cooper as the Black Hood was nice, I loved the whole "final test" for Betty. Hal's death actual made me feel bad for Betty and Lili Reinhart definetely worked hard on this episode. I didn't like how they made Chic the Gargoyle King but who else could they have made it? They needed a fallback and a way to make sure he got justice for "The Shady Man". I kinda wish they would refer to his name bc I don't think I've heard him named once.
Malignant (2021)
The reviews do not do this movie justice....
.... and for what? This movie is a genuine thrill ride. Jams Wan has taken a simple ghost story and made it much more than that, and he did it in spectacular fashion! I loved the twist involving parasitic twin. That isn't something I have seen in a horror movie and it works well. I did like that the movie wasn't afraid to get violent.
Scream (2022)
#ForWes
There are so many good things about this movie and no bad things.
-Skeet Ulrich makes a few cameos reprising his role of Billy Loomis.
-Much bloodier than the previous 4.
-The exact thing I had hoped this film had the guts to do, which is kill off one of the original 3, happened. R. I. P Dewie!
-This movie didn't have an opening kill! TARA SURVIVED!
-The killer reveals sent me. Liv saying she wasn't a killer and then Amber's "I Know" before shooting her was amazing!
-I really hope there is a 6th film because Jenna Ortega was amazing and I can see her becoming the new Sidney Prescott. #finalgirlgoals.
Don't Look Up (2021)
A darkly comedic story of a possible future.
I LOVED this movie! The film has an amazing A-List cast which includes Tyler Perry, Leonardo Dicaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalemet, and Ariana Grande. Honestly, the whole tone of this movie is great. If you are going into this movie blind, don't expect a super-serious dramatic movie. It has its moments but it is a comedy! And no, it is not a parody of Covid. In an interview, the director said he had been working on the film's script before Covid. My overall favorite moment in the film was when Ariana Grande performed "Just Look Up". It was the perfect way to the thrust the film into the 3rd act. Which brings me to the ending. In a comedy film, this ending had me ugly-crying at 3 in the morning. I mean this asteroid literally wipes out the entire planet and during the credits, you can see items from the characters and it just sent me.
Riverdale: Chapter One Hundred: The Jughead Paradox (2021)
The Jughead Paradox- Monumental 100th Episode
-In order to truly appreciate all that this episode has to offer, you need to put down whatever you are doing and pay close attention to all this episode has to offer. From everyone coming back from having their hearts ripped out(Archie), turning into the vengeful spirit La Llorona(Toni), dragged to Hell(Reggie), souls transferred(Cheryl/Nana Rose), and their counterparts seem to have dreamed everything. Practically everyone has returned from the dead. We even get a glimpse of Ms. Grundy. The only characters not to be in this episode are Hiram, Hermione, F. P, and Fred Andrews, played by the late Luke Perry. It is a truly remarkable episode and it is a love letter to the fans who have stuck with this show for 100 episodes!
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Great Potential
The movie had great potential. However, the film's weakest moments are the first 45 minutes. It tries to set up the story in an interesting way and fails. The high points of the movie is the lore. The characters are dull. There really isn't anything special to them. They are your typical high school kids. The kills are decent. The only one that really stood out was the bread slicer, which isn't even a realistic death! Overall, the movie was kind of ruined for me by the out of place sex scene and that lackluster opening.
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-Eight: Mr. Cypher (2021)
Lou Cypher comes to RiverVale
I really don't get why everyone is hating on these episodes. They don't really have much of an effect on the actual season this being a "5-episode event" and all.
Veronica sending Nick St. Claire to Hell was *chef's kiss*
I think both musical numbers were really good. I think that they need to give Kevin some more musical numbers becasue he has an amazing voice.
I can't believe how easy it was to get Kevin's soul
I was so shook when Betty started stabbing "TBK" and then it turned out to be Glen.
Jughead made ANOTHER STUPID DECISION
I can't believe that Betty buried Glen's body UNDER HER HOUSE!!!!!!!!
Was shoooooooooooook when Veronica decided to send Reggie to Hell.
Lucifer: Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam (2021)
Devilish Musical Episode Straight out of Hell
Isn't this episode supposed to be musical because God is visiting Earth? If so, Why is Lucifer singing within the first 10 seconds? Oh my, that, um, that is interesting. Finally, the song is over. No, No, NO! Bahahaha, for some reason those "No's" were hilarious. There is a dead body and the football players are still sitting on the field. When did the band kids get there? Why is Chloe Decker all of a sudden trying to get with Lucifer after just telling him that she was done with him? How professional, singing with a corpse dead on the 50 yard line. Dan, stop. "Another One Bites The Dust" was meh. Ella really stood out. Also, is God all of a sudden a bringer of musicals or whatever? Imagine having ons of enemies, wait... I have no room to talk. Haha! Chloe called God a terrible father. Pop off! Amenadiel and Linda have a baby?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They are throwing a fit abot high school football. Where is Archie Andrews ranting about "the epic highs of High School Football" when we need him? Lucifer's voice changes in every single song. Woman, respectfully, SHUT UP! This is just bad. For everyone who says the Riverdale musicals are bad, at least the characters have good voices. Sure, the episodes make zero sense but they are a lot better than this. Since when is "Ground your helicopter" a saying? The mom sent an email sing her son's email? Of course the football player say the ref arguing with some guy. In what perfect tv show universe wouldn't that happen? Chloe, you hould have learned by now that you SHOULDN'T follow your gut. I wouldn't trust sleeping on Lucifer's sofa, let alone his bed. Ha! Loved "lots of judging goes on in there, you'd like that!". Ha!, Dan is so shocked and his stuttering is hilarious. Probably the best moment of the episode. Lol! God remembers that Dan was hooking up with his wife. I thought Maze and Ella were best friends. This is just horrendous. Maze didn't have the rights to sing that song. Ella actually has the best voice of the entire cast. "The Juicy Juice" should have been the title of this episode. Typical Lucifer, always yelling or arguing with someone. He did not go to Linda's office just to force a mug in her face and say "taste this". There is no way I am only HALF-WAY THROUGH THIS! She did not just say "smell what I'm cookin?" Lucifer's facial expressions are the viewers throughout this entire episode. So literally everyone hated the referee. Lucifer, people aren't going to tell you what you want to know EVERY TIME you as them "What is it you TrUlY dEsIrE?". #deservedit. Lucifer getting more and more annoyed is us throughout the episode. HAHA! Dan's reaction to finding out he was hooking up with GOD'S WIFE was HILARIOUS!!!!!!! Asking for a drink does not mean the same thing as asking for a musical number. Dan, again, stop dancing. Dan, your dancing is the cringiest thing I have ever seen. And i have seen some cringy things. There is no way there is 20 minutes left. There we go, Lucifer FiNaLlY said the name of the episode. "Oh now he's dancing" had me chuckling. God, that is kind of perverted that you watched your son do the Devilish Deeds. Get it, "Devilish Deeds", Lucifer? The devil. Can Ella sing another song? She is the only cast memebr who actually has a good voice. She has a nice voice. Linda singing to her baby is actually redeeming this episode. If it was only her and Ella singing, I would be content. I guess rapping works for Amenadeil. Bahahahahaha! That baby looked mortified. I'm starting to get real annoyed with God's character. What a surprise, the wife killed her husband. When will this show be more original wth their criminals? I'm surprised Lucifer and Chloe didn't have a musical number right then and there. That little girl has a really nice voice. Not the flashbacks of Chloe and Lucifer. Prediction: Chloe is going to try and get back together with Lucifer. God is going to push me over the edge. He literally needs to stop. Tom Ellis is a great actor, don't get me worng, but they really messed up making him sing the most songs. Everytime he sung this episode, I literally cringed. Why does he sound drunk? Again, anther changed singing voice. Oh god, literally. He has a horrible singing voice. Why does he sound drunk as well? If Lucifer and Chloe both love each other, why not just get together? This episode sucks.
Legacies: Salvatore: The Musical! (2021)
A musical inspired by (sighs) The Vampire Diaries
I despise TVD. Watched one episode and swore to myself that I would never watch anything about it. And here I am. This is what I get for telling myself to watch and review the musical episodes of other tv shows. I'm surprised there hasn't been any singing yet, this being a CW musical episode and all. I don't blame her for getting mad at him for using her family history for the musical, I would be too! Is this like a crossover between CAOS because didn't that show involve some form of Astral Projecting? That segment was cringe. Ew, Damon. Every single person going for Damon. The one guy to audition for Stefan gets it because everyone else auditioned for(gross) Damon. Imagine holding auditions for a musical that doesn't even have a script. This villain ain't even intimidating. This montage is so dumb and cringey. Yeah dude, we all feel your pain. This girl should get it through her horribly done hair that she isn't the writer and shouldn't be telling him what to do. That is basically what I'm doing, I should probably stop. I'm still waiting for the singing. This is kind of crusty. For a musical episode, this isn't very musical. Dude, if you use someone's letter written to them by their father and you use the words as LYRICS FOR A SONG, yes that is horrible. So far, this isn't as bad as I thought it would be. That being said, there hasn't been any singing. I spoke too soon. Yeah, all shows use some autotune but for this show it is really showing- that was actually really nice what she did with her voice. I can tell you something bout this episode, there is nothing Mystic about it so far! Get it! Because the town is called "Mystic Falls". "Hello Brother" is so far, the best number of the episode. They really did good job with that one. Ooh, that started off weird. She is HEAVILY autotuned. And it isn't even autotuned well. I Will NOT Be Ok after watching this episode Yeah, I don't really like any of these songs other than "Hello Brother". Finally, it is a break from the 4 musical numbers in a row. What exactly happened? Stop! I hate broken bones. That made me cringe, but not because it was a horrible performance. This weird guy really needs to stop. Oh, he is a part of the production. My bad. Stop making her sing. Her voice is so bad. Her voice i nice. I love the prouction value on these shows. TBH, this episode was a lot better than I though it would be.
The Flash: Duet (2017)
Musical/Drama/Crime/Superhero all mixed into one
Half of this episode felt like a medical drama and the other half felt like your average CW confusion. I am a huge fan of Riverdale and their musical episodes so when I found out this was a CW show, I had high expectations. This is a decent episode but kinda confusing.
Positives
+The cast have great voices
+It isn't a totally random episode and the reason they are singing is explained.
+During "Super-Friends", Supergirl had an amazin riff
+Also, loved "I'll be there in a Flash"-"Barry!"-"What? It was funny"
Negatives
+Out of place Broadway references
+Stupid villain.
+One word-"Baby-doll"
+Super-friends
Questions/Comments
~Why he glare at Supergirl like that?
~Are these songs original or something?
~Flash and Supergirl singing about being "Super-friends" was cringey.
~They got shot!?!?!?!?
Grey's Anatomy: Song Beneath the Song (2011)
I don't really watch the show but not a bad episode
I started my "musical-episode" marathon by watching this episode. I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, but this episode was decent. I didn't know many of the songs, but they seemed fitting, for the most part. Some of the singing was meh. The sequence where they sang and had sex felt like something out of Riverdale. I did like Callie's(I believe that is what her name was) singing. She probably has the strongest voice of the cast.
American Horror Story: Gaslight (2021)
Gaslight
One of the most pychologically terrifying episodes in all of American Horror Story history. All of the actors deserve an award based on this episode alone.
Us (2019)
We Are Our Own Worst Enemies
The idea of this movie is great. I love all of the "11" references. The idea of a government expirement that created doppelgangers is like something out of an M. Night Shaymalan Movie.
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-Seven: Ghost Stories (2021)
La Llorona comes to Rivervale
This episode is one of the best episodes I have ever seen. So let me break it down. The episode starts off with a Serpent/Ghoulie fight, where Toni accidentally kills Darla Dickinson's son. Flash forward 3 months later, and Toni is still traumatized from the event. Jughead and Tabitha are on edge, along with Reggie and Veronica. In fact, Reggie's father is in the hospital, sick. Cut to a wide shot along the river, and the mysterious specter, La Llorona steps out of Sweetwater River. Cheryl and Nana Rose Blossom have a conversation about the maple trees flourishing, and toast to Archie. Dagwood runs into the room, screaming that "Mommy is trying to kill Juniper". Cheryl runs to the bathroom but discovers a locked door. In the bathroom, La Llorona is drowning Juniper. Cheryl unlocks the door and barges in, discovering bruises on Juniper's arms.
At the Mantle Car Lot, A man pulls in with a car that resembles his old car, Bella. At the FBI office, Betty contacts Toni. A serpent mother is being questioned for the murder of her daughter. When Toni goes into the interrogation room, the mother tells Toni that La Llorna killed her daughter. Betty isn't ready to believe a folk tale. At the Cooper home, La Llorona pays Betty a visit. The next day, Betty visits Dr. Curdle Junior. He informs Betty that she is no longer pregnant. Tabitha discovers that Jughead is hiding the fact that there was a murder suicide in their new apartment.
This information stresses out Tabitha. Especially after she discovers that he always let Betty read his first drafts. She then returns home and fights with Jughead. She proceeds to smash the typewriter that Betty gifted him and grabs a hammer. She is about to kill him until she looks into a mirror. When she does so, she discovers that she isn't herself. She stops, and Jughead and Tabitha share their first "I love you's". Also, La Llorona makes an appearance at Riverdale High. Toni sets the fire alarm off and grabs an Axe. She attempts to kill La Llorona but she dissappears before Toni can do so. She is interrupted by Kevin.
Betty and Toni go to Thornhill and induce a seance. While doing so, they discover that Darla Dickinson summoned La Llorona. Betty and Toni then go to the cemetary, and encounter Darla. Toni apologies to Darla and learns that the man Toni killed was her last son. They also learn that La Llorona's target is Baby Anthony, and that once summoned, she can't be stopped. Betty and Toni go to the Whyte Worm to discover a whole group of Serpents, including Fangs Fogarty, drenched. Meanwhile, Reggie tells veronica that his dad died. She discovers this after destroying the car that resembled Bella. She did do becasue she thought he had relations with a teacher.
Betty and Toni go to Sweetwater River to confrotn La Llorona. Therefore, Toni tries to convince La Llorona to let Baby Anthony be free. La Llorona refuses. So, Toni volunteers to take la Llorona's place. In doing so, La Llorona gives Toni her baby so she can say her final goodbyes. Toni gives Betty her baby and La Llorona runs into Toni. Flashes of Toni and Baby Anthony flash onscreen and Toni becomes La Llorona. She tells Betty to tell Anthony his mother loved him, and she walks into Sweetwater River. Cut to Title Card.
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-Six: Welcome to Rivervale (2021)
Amazing! I can't believe the show had the "heart" to do that!!
The premiere episode of the 5 episode "RiverVale" event was amazing. It felt properly paced and left my jaw on the floor. I can not believe they killed of Archie Andrews in this episode. And in a brutal way. Season 6 is going to be crazy if they have Archie getting his heart torn out by Cheryl.
American Horror Story: The Future Perfect (2021)
Wasn't totally horrendous
I get hte fact that people are mad about the fact that it ended with the alien baby but that was the point! It was meant to get you thinking about what could have happened! Y'all just---- you're done, you're done.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Better the second time through
Going into this movie... I had high expectations. Based off of the trailers alone, it looked like it was going to be a thrilling movie. But it was a jumbled mess. Almost all of the suspense of the first movie was erased. The scenes felt like they were just horribly edited together. Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode was basically sidelined the entire movie. Every sequence in the hospital was flippin' useless and added nothing to the movie. The suicide of this random guy who literally had no lines and just was there was pointless and to me felt like it was added to raise the kill count. But to every negative, there is a positive. One of my favorite scenes of this movie was when Michael Myers killed Marion Chambers and the parents of that funny kid that Vicky was babysitting in the 2018 Halloween. It was very well done and I actually thought it was kinda funny when Michael kicked the door open and caused the mom to shoot herself in the face. Also, I thought that it added great shock value to kill off Karen right at the end of the movie. I am curious to see how everything plays out in Halloween Ends and hopefully, the film is better than this one.
- Watched it again last night. The film is whole lot better the second time around. I think I was let down the first time due to the fact that I had extremely high expectaions for the horror film.
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-Four: Next to Normal (2021)
10 for truly being an emotional episode
This is the best musical episode this show has done. It truly shows that Alice has lost it and is having a hard time dealing with the fact that her husband was a serial killer, her son was a serial killer and that her daughter was murdered. All of the bad reviews are from people not liking musical epiosdes but that shouldn't be the reason why you rate it horribly. Every single song that was sung was amazing. I have "Just Another Day", "Perfect For You", "Didn't I See This Movie", and "I'm Alive" stuck in my head.
