More from the dead-end that was LOST
Just a reimagining of LOST. Same elements, different location. Instead of an island, a town. Inst as of the "others" the monsters. Instead of Jacob, the boy in white. Seriously, save yourself time and energy and skip this show.
Bob Hearts Abishola (2019)
Good for a 1990 sitcom
Seriously, are they buying reviews? How is this even as high as 6.7... it's abysmal ... we're is the fresh humor? Who is this supposed to appeal to? Are there so many Nigerians in the U.S. watching this? Are White Americans so interested in Nigerian culture all of sudden? A mixture of buffooneries, bad acting obviously ... a writer's room full of non-Nigerians ... *wink *wink
Mulan (2020)
Gee, maybe hire a Chinese writer?
Plain and simple ... got 4 White writers to script an ancient Chinese folktale ... and wonder what went wrong ... keep it to the silly cartoons, or actually hire people from the culture to write their own narratives... DUH, Disney ... you'll see in the end that the world is tired of having outsiders write their stories. Want authenticity? What us to buy it? Keep it real ... which isn't a screenplay by LTGBQI Hollywood/American insiders
Into the Forest (2015)
Can't stand Ellen Page's prototypical misandrist face
Horrible, ridiculous writing, pointless story, pointless ending ... who laid this director to burn money!? Ellen Page looks disgusting and should give up acting ... seriously NOTHING special about her. Looks like she should be living in a Forrest, driving a Subaru Outback on the weekends to pick up her prescriptions from the pharmacy
Robot Trains (2017)
Season 1, the BEST
Season One was an animation (drawings) while Season Two is completely computer generated ... doesn't have the same feel. The storyline for season 2 isn't has good, either. The Theme song changed to some HORRIBLE ballad over the catchy child-friendly tune from the first Season. I don't know how or why you take a show that everyone loves and totally make it worst! Season One I rank a 10, Season Two is a 0, so averaged is a 5.
The Professor (2018)
Don't fight it, stop denying it
Depp is one of the best actors ever ... the movie moved me to tears. The internal and external struggles someone in this position must go through. This humanize such a scary disease in a way that made the movie about the person and not the illness. Profound, deep, enjoyable and just the right amount of everything. Wasn't a champion of the illness (Philadelphia) nor a tale of abandon (Californication) rather and exploration of self in the time one has left ... with a mission to leave those behind in a better place or at least without worry about him. Wow! Wow! Bravo to you Mr. Depp!
Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Lovely, Fresh, Diversity
It is wonderful to see Netflix invest in vehicles like this. It's so nice to see romance stories not staring the usual faces and tropes that Hollywood has pushed out for so many years. We've seen white guys do EVERYTHING ... time for news faces to have a turn at telling human stories with diverse faces so children of all races can see themselves reflected on screen.
Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History (2019)
Creative and fun
A wonderful way to touch on history for kids. Everything except the devil worshipping sell your soul portion was well done.
Transformers: Combiner Wars (2016)
Great Story, Horrible Voice Acting
The voice actors largely sound like a bunch of amateurs recorded their lines in their bathrooms and submitted them to the director. The voice of Menasor the weakest and most ill-suited of them all. Horrible casting !
I Need You to Kill (2017)
A fantastic look at how comedy translates ...
Some of the funniest people from one of the greatest clubs in the world ... a very interesting look at international stand-up comedy. I wish this were a series. It would be great to learn more about the comics based in Asia and how they create their material for an American (or international) audience ... basically the same thing but in reverse.
