Maximum Conviction (2012)
Seagal and Austin, Hell Yeah!
A great movie for fans of Seagal and Austin. It's amazing seeing them work together to take down the bad guys. Lots of guns, explosions, and good fight scenes. Austin also had some good one-liners. If you like the genre, you'll love the film. So grab a cold beer, a sandwich, and enjoy the ride!
Damage (2009)
Great Movie
Very similar to Van Damme's Lionheart, except the story is much better, the fighting is amazing, and the acting is much improved. Steve Austin finally got cast in a movie with actual supporting actors that don't look like film school drop outs. This movie is second to Austin's The Condemned, in my opinion as his best movie so far. If you love fighting, drama, solid plot and good casting, then you'll enjoy this movie. I will be watching this one again!
The Stranger (2010)
Had Potential but Poor Casting and Directing Hurt this Movie
Steve Austin and Erica Cerra were brilliant in this movie. Every other person in the film seemed like first year acting students. It felt like everyone else was reading cue cards. The chemistry between Austin and Cerra was good and helped to keep my interest, but the Directing was horrible. The movie jumps all over the place and is nearly impossible to follow. Even when they start to piece things together, it still doesn't make sense. The worst part was the ending. The movie just stops without finishing the story or anything resembling a conclusion. The fight scenes were good, the action was solid. With a decent director and a few supporting actors that could act, this film could have easily been an 8 or 9 star. As it, I give it 6 and that's only because of Austin and Cerra. I might rewatch it again, now that I kind of know what happened, but I'll be doing a lot of fast forwarding. Too bad, because this movie has a lot of potential.
Hunt to Kill (2010)
A Fun Action Flick
I can't believe all the negative reviews I'm seeing here. They either get their jollies by knocking movies, or they had no idea what they were watching. If you like action movies with some drama and suspense thrown in, this won't disappoint. By no means is this an Epic Tale or Oscar Winning picture, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. If you're looking for a Meryl Streep or Jessica Tandy type movie, then this isn't for you. If you're looking for a Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, and Sylvester Stallone type movie, then get comfy, grab some munchies, an ice cold beer and sit back and enjoy the film!
Tactical Force (2011)
A fun ride.
Yes, the naysayers will pluck at plot holes and make fun of the fact that it has professional wrestlers and UFC fighters in lead roles, but Tactical Force is a fun action movie with some great fight scenes, explosions, gunfire and twists. You think the movie is going in one direction at the beginning, then it flips the script on you and takes things in a whole other direction. It's not finished there either as the final flip at the end will leave you both laughing and a little confused. If you're looking for an Oscar Winning performance, you won't like this movie. However, if you like action. fighting, cocky heroes and bumbling bad guys, you'll enjoy this movie as much as I did. Could it have been better? Sure! It also could have been a hell of a lot worse. This movie reminded me a lot of the old Steven Segal cop movies where the action was the star and the fight scenes left you cheering for more! If that's your kind of thing, then sit back and enjoy!!
