The Secret: Dare to Dream (2020)
Cute movie
I liked the film's overall message but some of the acting was questionable imo (Josh Lucas is not included in this assessment, he's always good in my humble opinion)
I felt as if some of the (child) stars have not lived a "regular" normal life in years & that was reflected in the overall feel of the film. It felt like they were out of place or were playing house with their performances.
All of that being said...it's worth watching if you like cornball stuff filled with 90's kid star faces...like I do lol. Even though the performances were flimsy (at best) I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing Katie Holmes on my screen again.
City of Angels, City of Death (2021)
Excellent series
I avoided watching this initially because I was already so familiar with the different serial killers & crimes that this series covers. I'm happy that I finally took the time to watch because it was a truly intriguing & different take than anything I had ever watched before about the era of the 70's & 80's LA serial killers. They give examples of how a lot of these crimes crossed paths due to the fact that the same police were investigating all of these infamous criminals at the same time. The firsthand accounts from the police are emotional & raw, really giving you a feel for what it was like to investigate all of those coinciding crimes & live through that insanity. Overall it was a great series & I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys true crime.
1883 (2021)
Wayyy overrated
I love Westerns & I'm also a huge Yellowstone fan so I really expected to enjoy 1883 much more. The historical inaccuracies are out of control & the narration is just plain annoying & corny. This reminded me of a Old West version of a CW teen drama.
Life & Beth (2022)
Fresh & honest
I found myself unexpectedly binging this show. It's very entertaining & addictive! The performances are great from the entire cast but Amy & Michael Cera are both amazing.
Ozark (2017)
Most overrated show of all time
There are holes big enough to drive trucks through in the storyline each season. The performances are very good but characters lack depth, not the fault of the actors that portray them. And why doesn't the preacher's baby ever get any older?? Lol.
