Curse of Aurore (2020)
Watched this due to seeing them promote on Twitter
I'm a huge fan of this subgenre, and for me this was was excellent! Of course there are some flaws but no where near enough to consider this a bad movie, or even an okay movie. At least for me, I love when a film can use am actual event and use it to provide a good story.
The set up is we have a YouTube vlogger who does these unboxing of "mystery boxes" in one was a doll with a USB drive and the entire movie of what we're watching is in the USB.
love that angle, also the acting from the three main characters was great! theypull off some great practical effects as well, don't wanna get too into spoilers about the main plot but the I thought I knew where it was gonna go but by the end was left pleasantly surprised! I'll quit rambling but for me personally this movie works and if you're into the found footage subgenre it's worth your time!
Camping Fun (2020)
A short found footage film with a great concept!
For a short film, I believe clocking in around 13-14mns on YouTube for free it's not bad, there definitely can be a story expanded here.
Follows four friends and they take a trip to a friend's old home but are soon in for a surprise. I'm trying to be vague cause it's a very short found footage style film that I'd still not rather spoil, the camera work is what it needs to be for this style of filmmaking and I did feel immerse from beginning to end.
My biggest complaint...would be to say it needs to be longer! Hoping this gets made intona feature. Would love to see either a back story on the main girl or just more incidents involving her, overall if you're into the found footage subgenre then this should be entertaining for you!
