Interview with the Vampire: Don't Be Afraid, Just Start the Tape (2024)
BEST EPISODE OF THE SERIES SO FAR
Probably the best hour of television I've seen since Succession ended. No show in TV right now is doing it like Interview with the Vampire and more people need to talk about it. Every episode this season has topped it's predecessor and it's proving to be one of the best writing I've experienced in a long time.
The performances in this episode alone should earn everyone at least Emmy nominations. Jacob Anderson consistently proofs he's one of the best and most underappreciated actors in the industry, he's magistral as Louis (and he has been in every episode since season 1), he truly is the heart and the backbone of this show. Assad Zaman excels this season as the vampire Armand but particularly in this episode he gives it his all and it's terrifyingly beautiful and glorious.
Taylor Swift: All Too Well (2021)
I'll remember this all too well
This is my favorite song ever, I can't believe we get to see this beautiful short film alongside it. The acting was amazing, Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien really gave they all for this performances. The cinematography was gorgeous, and created an amazing atmosphere that went great with the song.
Taylor Swift's direction doesn't disappoint, she really loves this piece of work and you can tell. Let's hope that she will continue to direct, she's only given us a little piece of what she can do.
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Thanks, I hate it!
Supernatural's done some really bad things, but this one is definitely the worst. Dean's character development is just completely ignored in favor of a cringey and definitely non emotional ending that places the characters right at the beginning, making everything they were through for 15 years pointless.
Eileen, a deaf hunter and Sam's romantic insterest that was brought back to life to be with him gets replaced by a blurry wife which is just the cherry on top of this awful episode.
The only tears I shred while watching this were of anger, so I will refuse to acknowledge that any of it happened. I prefer the good Supernatural that lives inside my head and it's not afraid of of success, where female, bipoc and queer characters get the recognition they deserve and aren't killed off for shocking effect. Castiel deserved better, Charlie deserved better, Jack deserved better, Kevin deserved better, Billie deserved better, Kaia deserved better, Eileen deserved better, Dean Winchester deserved better.
COVID-19 is not an excuse for this. The ending with the whole crew without masks on is just disrespectful. Using two versions of "Carry On my Wayward Son" right after each other was plain weird, and Jared Padalecki's old man wig ruined my life. Thanks for ruining my favorite show, I hate it now!
