You Can't Kill Meme (2021)
Psycho babble garbage.
It is over an hour of bumbling rambled interviews. Given from fringe society basement goblins. While the interviewer is trying to ask actual questions. I feel bad for the interviewer who really did try to make a documentary on an interesting idea. However her subjects were just plain incoherent.
Monster Hunter (2020)
60 Million dollar flop.
The movie had such great potential given its roots. However it is obvious that the movies makers did no true dive into those roots.
This movie is nothing but an hour and forty four minutes of some delusional frat boy nerd fantasy. With maybe about a half hour at most of dialogue. The film completely relies on the creatures. You never get more in depth about said creatures.
The viewer never gets to understand anything about the other world say for there is some humans and creatures and at some point there was ancient civilization.
The ending of the movie is just as bad. With the death of a powerful creature and then the emergence of another powerful creature and our hero disappearing to a portal with new companions to fight it. In other words you ride this hours long battle scene that claims to be a movie. To its end only to have the ending phoned in with the most basic closure imaginable.
With a budget of sixty million. It comes as no surprise that this film only made a little over forty million at the box office, and to this reviewers mind those numbers have nothing to do with the global pandemic. However, it has everything to do with bad production from start to end. At the end of it all do not bother with this film and go rewatch an old favorite.
The Cult of the Family (2019)
The Cult of the Family
After watching this all I can say is karma was served hellfire hot. I will be brief, while I had heard of the cult leader mentioned in this docu-series. I had never before heard said leader speak. While interviews with the survivors of this cult are heartbreaking. The leader of this pack was fascinating to listen to. The pure psychopathic way that it spewed its rhetoric was absolutely amazing. I have seen crazy believers of religion but this one took breath away. It never faltered to give a calm, consistent, concise, conversation. This program is truly an enlightening few hours. Watching an actual psychopath at work, and while I hate to give away an ending. Hearing how that despot of greed, and manipulation met it's end really did put a smile on my face. The survivors deserved better and I wish them all the best. In the end though karma in this reviewers opinion definitely came around in a magnificent end.
