One Ranger (2023)
Wish I'd been called into work
Had a day off and settled down to watch this, oops.
It is awful.
I should have known 10 mins in when he's told to drop his 2 guns by a bankrobber, who then runs off, and said gun is picked up from his feet and used to kill him. Looking for an international terrorist dressed like a rodeo rider, not very inconspicuous.
John Malkovich sounds like one of the aliens from Galaxy Quest.
The russian gets shot 3 times and the next scene is having a neck wound stitched. He's then good to go.
And the gun they want to use to blow up Big Ben it fires 14 miles but they intend to use it from 500 yards.
Don't waste your time go to work like I should have done.
Mad God (2021)
Loved it!
Makes Eraserhead look like Marley and Me.
Think of every nightmare creature you've ever dreamt of and it's lurking in here somewhere.
I enjoyed every macabre second of this innovative masterpiece.
The Emily Atack Show (2020)
You know that annoying holiday rep when you go abroad
The rep who thinks she's got something important to give to the world has got her own tv show and it's as funny as watching someone having a tooth removed.
Not a single redeeming thing to say about this show.
Watch at your own peril.
American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally (2021)
Just a small point
If the real woman sang like this actress the G. I.'s would have turned off in their droves.
She's awful.
Judas and the Black Messiah (2021)
Good period drama
Enjoyed the film and not knowing much about the subject it was quite informative and made me delve deeper into the history of the subject.
However, I have a major problem with it. A lot of the dialogue is unintelligible. I know this is authentic but it spoiled it for me as I missed lots of what they are talking about.
It reminded me of the 'jive talking' court scene in Airplane.
Breach (2020)
You know it's going to be bad when.....
The first real dialogue in the film is a woman saying 'how do I get off'. We've just had a view of the ship a million miles from a doomed earth and she wants to find the escape pods.
I wish my house was equipped with an escape pod to save me having to watch this.
Barbarians (2020)
Good, but some parts inaccurate.
I enjoyed this, especially the use of latin by the romans which gave it a feel of them being the invaders in a foreign land.
What I could not understand is why a Roman governor, or Roman patrols, would ride into the forest with a maximum of 8 soldiers. Especially as it's stated that their patrols are under constant attack. We see the Roman camp, which looks impressive, with near 20000 soldiers, but everything else is scaled down. The main Germanic camp we see has about 4 houses.
Also, the girl's father betrays his people over and over yet no one seems bothered.
