Two (1965)
TWO, a antiwar (VIETNAM) film by Satyajit Ray
TWO, a antiwar (VIETNAM) film by Satyajit Ray, is a worth watching experience. However, this film impact much better then the films with dialogue. The rivalry between TWO kids is metaphor for human life and strata in our excising society.
How the rich kid oppressed the poor kid is symbolic representation on first world against the third world countries. It's also comment on how our imperfect society is influencing the kids and making theme rival when they must play and enjoy their freedom.
An excellent masterpiece by Ray, worth watching and stays in heart forever.
Galpa Holeo Satyi (1966)
A film which is still so relevant to our contemporary society.
In Childhood, this cinema was always a collective and enchanting experience. It never bored me and I enjoyed watching it. But as I grow up started learning about film language, this film becomes more interesting to me.
Tapan Sinha, tells us a simple family drama in very much in his own unique way. But it conveys a universal message of simplifying our lives.
At this time, when we all are isolated someway, mostly having no humanly contact (touch), this film helps to stay afloat. It delivers a message of universal brotherhood - in a metaphor of Bengali family in 1966 Bengal. When Bengal was going through turmoil like student & food revolution.
But, Tapan Sinha want us value the small things in our life rather then materialistic possessions. The true happiness comes from being with family and from inside.
Kudos to Sinha for making such film which is still so relevant to our contemporary depreciating society.
