Kindred Spirits (2016)
Entertaining and more realistic evidence
Amy and Adam are well known professional investigators which makes this show so good. The evidence is more realistic than GA's evidence. Most of the time when you're on an investigation the most you will get is some jumbled evps, bumps in the night, maybe a shadow. 3 days of evidence put into a 40 min episode keeps it more entertaining and the psychic aspect allows for more information to be present. I think sometimes they reach to give the client a name or person to attach to the paranormal activity too but if it helps the client than it's not a bad thing.
Conjuring Kesha (2022)
Has potential but is lacking in big areas
This is exactly the kind of show I would expect from a "spiritually woke" person. Kesha knows little to nothing about the paranormal or ghost hunting but is into the 2022 spiritualist movement, aka mass produced crystals and manifesting your destiny. She also seems vapid and lacking confidence when going into this industry.
That being said, I think the concept is good, celebrity with no concept of ghost hunting being pared with professionals who help her. To make this show more watchable I would want the professionals to take the lead and teach Kesha and the audience about what it takes to ghost hunt or talk with spirit. Also, They go back and forth from an HD camera and her personal crappy camcorder which makes this show feel less fluid and harder to watch. If they just tweaked the show a little bit it would be so much more enjoyable. I don't think it's a lost cause just yet.
Ghost Loop (2019)
Unfortunately so bad
I really love ghost hunting programs and I am always looking for new shows to fill the void, but this show is not it. The investigators are very obviously acting / reading script. I think these types of shows should have two sides, it should be entertaining and have based evidence. The bad acting, over dramatization and picking at straws for evidence makes this show a 1/10. I don't want GA to have a monopoly over the travel channel but they need to up their game on something to compete with them.
Ghost Nation (2019)
Not what they used to be
I grew up watching Ghost Hunters, these men and women were my hero's. I loved it and everyone of the cast, but honestly this show is just a mockery. They used really heavily and obvious voice overs and pretend that it's part of the live script. It's extremely hard to watch when it goes from normal audio to voice over audio. There is no flow in the show. The cast seems unmotivated and they use outdated investigation techniques. This is budget Ghost Hunters. Also, they're missing a traveling female investigator.
