I loved it

The Royal Tenenbaums was a good movie in a year of near misses and almost maybes. It stands out as a beautiful saga of a dysfunctional New York family. The story is beautifully crafted and molded in a quintessential Wes Anderson manner. The attention to detail is impeccable, the cast equally balanced and supportive of each other. Gene Hackman's performance as the mischevious Royal Tenenbaum is beautiful to watch and I hope he will win his much deserved Golden Globe for such a golden performance. The web site is alot of fun too with commentary by Owen Wilson. Great Movie

one of the worst movies i have ever seen

Apart from the beautiful backdrop and the fresh young faces and (cheeks) there is very little that i enjoyed about this movie. The script was deplorable, the acting less than sub-par and as for the direction: Roger Kumble deserves to be shot. This movie though not the worst that i have ever seen comes dangerously close.

Good movie good acting good script

I really enjoyed this movie because it was very well done. The acting was phenominal especially Thora Birch's caustic Enid, Scarlett Johansson as Enid's friend Becky, Illeana Douglas as the random art teacher and Steve Buscemi. The movie basically follows Enid and Becky after they graduate high school and become more and more alienated from each other. At the end of the movie i felt a little bit depressed but for the most part it's a hillarious little flick
