Under the Skin (2013)
Let down - avoid unless you like weird
Odd Girl takes dead(?) girl's clothes after strange motorcycle guy Carrie's her to a van. One tear from dead(?) girl. Odd Girl then meets boys, takes them to strange surreal place and makes them go away. Then looks in mirror, let's one go, strange motorcycle guy gets him anyway . Then she tries cake, doesn't like it. One guy takes her out of the rain, she doesn't kill him, I think. Odd Girl then goes to woods, takes off her skin after being attacked, then gets burned and dies. The end. I just saved you 2 hours. I get that it's a movie of self discovery, but there are too many questions that leave you wondering what you just watched.
Secret Headquarters (2022)
How did the van get out?
I struggled with the internal logic of this show. One example: The kids find a van in the headquarters. Next scene they are driving it outside. The assumption is there is a way out that where the van fits, like the bat mobile in the cave. Later, the kids are in the headquarters and say the only way out is the elevator, which exits in the office behind the family room. The van won't even fit in the elevator. How did the van get out? Why couldn't the kids leave the way the van did? Made no sense.
Blade Runner: Black Lotus: The Davis Report (2022)
Just a recap
Very little new material here, except at the end. Cut scenes from earlier episodes make up about 80% of this show. This was truly unnecessary. I fast forwarded through most of it.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
I didn't read the books
I am on episode 8, still have no idea what's going on. Am I required to read the book to know the point of all this? New characters show up with no explanation of their role. Are we supposed to care about them? I'm so confused.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016)
Dialog is atrocious
Graphics were good. Story weak. Dialog awful. I really wanted to like this based on all the good reviews. I imagine if you play the games this might be easier to follow. But if you don't there are better video game movies out there.
Longmire: Goodbye Is Always Implied (2017)
Vic + Walt = Gross
Can anyone say Daddy issues? I was so grossed out watching Vic and Walt. Ick. Why why why. Wrong on so many levels.
Coffee & Kareem (2020)
Unlikeable kid
For a movie like this to work, the kid has to be likeable. In the first half hour the kid tries to have Coffee killed or injured by hiring thugs. You can't come back from that. Doesn't matter how he bonds to Coffee later, this kid is an awful human being. Between that and the constant profanity, I just couldn't care less about the kid. What an a-hole. And the kid's mom is supposed to be such a great mother figure that everyone around her does whatever she tells them to do. She makes criminals bow to her will. But she can't get her kid to have any decency in him. What a mess.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
My wife fell asleep
The pacing on this was exceedingly slow. At just around 3 hours, I found myself fairly disinterested throughout much of the film. There are some good moments, but not enough to make me want to watch it again.
A.P. Bio (2018)
So Bad
The show looked funny so I recorded the first three episodes n my DVR. I couldn't make it through the first episode. I watched all but the last 2 minutes. I didn't laugh once. I didn't smile. The main character is an awful human being. There was no reason to watch the second. This could be the worst pilot episode I've EVER seen. That's saying a lot since I watch a lot of bad television. Save yourself from this mess of a show.
