The Haunting Lodge (2023)
Utter Nonsense and BS
Does anyone actually believe that this nonsense is real? I put this on in the background for some noise while doing housework and that's about all it was good for. I imagine the "crew" of this "documentary" are a bunch of out of work film school dropouts trying to justify/recoup the cost of their equipment. "Ghosts don't have such heavy footsteps." Seriously? You can buy a variety of "paranormal equipment" online and start your own ghostbusting investigation team. These shows are ridiculous and I'm glad I only turn them on occasionally for background noise and to see just how silly they can be.
A Killer Next Door (2020)
OMG - so bad
This is one of the worst movies I have ever wasted my time watching. It is a very poor combination of The Stepfather and Disturbia. The acting is horrendous. The exaggerated facial expressions and reactions harken back to silent movies. I'm not sure why each character seems to have a different accent when they are either from the same family or neighborhood.
Really awful. Don't waste your time.
Past Obsessions (2011)
If there is absolutely nothing else on
This is a total ripoff of Sleeping With the Enemy...but not as good. If there is nothing else on TV and you just need some background noise, then go for it. If you really want to sit down and watch a suspenseful movie about a wife escaping her abusive spouse, watch the real deal with Julia Roberts.
Amber Alert (2012)
Someone needs to slap the this guy
The premise was interesting and it started out okay until they were in the car following the Amber Alert vehicle. The boyfriend/driver was SO ANNOYING and wimpy. The dialogue made me want to reach into the screen and slap that guy silly. Hard to get past that and watch the rest of the movie. A good idea that went nowhere.
The Nth Ward (2017)
Terrible acting, worse dialogue
What a waste of time this move was. Loaded with horror cliches, awkwardly bad dialogue, mediocre acting, and only one saving grace: the too-few scenic shots of New Orleans and San Francisco. Don't recommend unless you've exhausted all other options.
