Outlander: The World Turned Upside Down (2022)
One of the worst episodes.
There were so many things wrong with this episode. Some parts were so ridiculous they made me laugh. The writers have run out of ideas. Outlander has become a show for the simple minded.
Outlander: Temperance (2022)
Episode 3: Babies, children, and religion.
The episode began with a crying baby. Religious Roger rescued it and performed a baptism. I hate this new version of Roger. Until this season I liked him. But now with the preaching and all his religious talk, I can't watch him anymore.
It seemed like most of this episode was about the new baby and children. The only parts I found interesting were the couple of scenes with Ian. But he and Malva spent most of that time talking about religion, so more of the same. Then there was the obligatory flogging.
Outlander: Between Two Fires (2020)
Violent. Bloody. Disgusting.
Most of the scenes in this episode contained violence and/or bloody bodies. What was the point of the repeated close-up shots of the bloody corpse that Claire had autopsied? And the burned and bloody chest of the man who had been tarred and feathered. Do they think the audience is not intelligent enough to understand what happened so they must show it up close over and over again? Then there was the animal being sliced up by Marsali, Stephen Bonnet's gruesome fight, the stabbing of the Scot, women punching and kicking each other, etc. I fast forwarded through much of the episode. I can handle some violence and blood, but this was excessive and seemed to be there for shock value.
Outlander: The Fiery Cross (2020)
Slow start. Jamie's bangs are gone!
The first half of this episode was boring for me. The wedding preparations, ceremony, and dancing/celebrating was drawn out, but then I've never been interested in watching weddings on TV. Except for Jamie and Claire's wedding. That was special.
Jamie looks much more attractive now. I'm so glad he no longer has bangs. It was sometimes hard for me to watch him in Seasons 3 and 4 because he was a middle-aged man with a child's hairstyle. Some people have complained about Claire's gray hair and I wonder if they're aware that she's in her early 50's now. The gray hair shows that she has aged since the actress who plays her is 40 years old and doesn't have the face of a 52- or 53-year-old woman.
The end of the episode with the fiery cross ceremony was good. It brought back memories from Season 1 in Scotland.
