Kingdom: Ashin-jeon (2021)
Just a filler but still enjoyable
Easily an 8.5/10 for this
Minus 1.5 for weak script but Jun Ji-Hyun's acting and character will fill up most of the void with a no less than perfect performance. Coming in as a massive reveal in the season finale, her appearance was a revelation but the movie serves as just a filler which doesn't really affect the main drama series.
The movie shows Ashin's trials and tribulations from her childhood as she grows into an adult. Disappointment after disappointment, and with outstanding performance from female lead, we sense her withering faith in humanity as she discovers new depressing details.
All in all, I'm most disappointed with the lack of proper character development but a thoroughly satisfying watch.
Miss Americana (2020)
No words to express how I feel right now
"Nothing is better than this moment"
So true. I counted the seconds and kept refreshing Netflix to watch it the second its out.
For someone who grew up with and had my own rendition of similar things that happened to me, it was like watching a documentary of my soul twin growing up and reconstructing our belief system together with me year after year.
It's almost how scary and raw and real all the emotions were. If you grew up with Taylor like me, watch this documentary alone, prepare your tissues because you will be reminded of your past struggles before you got where you are right now.
I have no idea how much tears flowed no matter how much I tried to keep them in.
10/10
P.S.: I hate the Kardashians more right now. What I thought of them is probably true all these time, they paid the media enough to turn the whole world against Taylor and made naive people follow Kim's standard of beauty. SHAME.
Messiah (2020)
I feel like I wasted my time watching this
With a background story like that, surely you could've made it more interesting.
Just another mediocre show, not engaging at all.
The end result of this whole fiasco is jarring. Throwing in all sorts of miraculous events that lacks its gravitas with their monotonous CIA proceedings. I'm done. It's just too dull for me.
The Witcher (2019)
Mind blowing
It's so good, I'm speechless
Minus 1 due to the incomprehensible timeline. No distinctions between flashbacks and current timeline, so that might be a weee bit complicated to understand.
However, amazing story build up and production quality is mind blowing.
Worth all the wait
Henry Cavill manages to capture the essence of Geralt's character extremely well and is definitely the highlight of the show but Anya Chalotra's rendition of Yeneffer extremely resonates with me especially when I was younger and confused.
I'm gonna rewatch this. 2nd season, please come soon!!!!
Quote of the show, raw from the book
"Lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I'm not a pious hermit, I haven't done only good in my life. But if I'm to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all"

Singapore Social (2019)
Might've gotten better reviews with a different title
The title being Singapore Social we would expect it to be literally following the lives of normal Singaporeans and how their social lives would be like. But this is not what is depicted. Unfortunately not inspiring at all. So, what is the purpose of making this series?
First off, the main casts of this show... Need I mention the obvious issue here? What happened to the accent? I need not explain this any further.
This circle of friends are too childish especially when it came to everyone being meddlers in all their friends relationships it's nauseating. Taking into consideration these are a bunch of mid 20 year olds acting with the brain of 16 year olds. Especially Sukki being so annoying and whiny and giving off such a delusional vibe. It's so sickening that at one point I just wanted to enter the screen and slap the living hell out of her.
I'd watch it just just for a chick flick thing to pass time light heartedly. Obviously a mistake for me to watch.
Please make a minor change to the subtitle on Episode 7. Paul's scene to be exact. Tompang is not a chinese word. It's a malay word.
