Panicfest screening was a blast!
9 April 2024
Oh my goodness. I knew nothing about Mother Father Sister Brother Frank going into it. However, I was SO surprised by how good this film is! I was extremely lucky to catch the WORLD premiere and got a chance to meet the director which made the film even better. This film is filled with so much love; humor; gore; family drama and more! This is a perfect balance of genres centered around a family who is far from perfect in all the best ways.

Caden has made a truly exceptional film! Wonderful performances all around with the legendary Mindy Cohn standing out.

I cannot wait for everyone to see how hilarious this movie is! Bravo bravo bravo!

New Life (I) (2023)

New Life is amazing.
9 April 2024
New life was a shockingly good time! Caught a screening during panicfest and it was literally one of my favorite films at the fest! The "shocking reveal" halfway through made my jaw DROP. Parallel stories for both female leads was such a good move here. You really FELT the pain in both characters for different reasons. Filled with great performances, surprises, scares and heart- this film should not be missed! I got to experience a wonderful Q&A with the filmmakers and it was just an amazing experience!

Sonya Walger really really shines here.

Bravo John Rosman! What an intense, thrilling, harrowing experience.

Love lies bleeding!!
15 March 2024
Love Lies Bleeding was awesome. One of my favorites of the year so far! 4/5!

Rose Glass is becoming a favorite director of mine pretty quickly! This film combined so many elements and genres from thriller, romance, drama, horror, comedy and much more. It also felt body horror-esk. Throughly enjoyed the acting as I'm not *always* a fan of Kristen Stewart. However, I really enjoyed her and the rest of the talented cast in this film. Some of the so called "non-reality" scenes were epic. The storyline was simple enough yet thrilling and shocking at times!

Great watch. Well done to Rose Glass on her second feature! I hope she keeps up the excellent work.

LOVE this movie.
15 March 2024
I am a huge horror fan, but not always a fan of werewolf, movies, and I had a recently watched this for the very first time... Wow, I was completely blown away with how good this film is... It is frightening, funny, and everything in between... The special effect make up is some of the best practical effects I've ever seen in that time! The transformation scene.. wow. I'm so glad it won the best makeup Oscar.

Absolutely love the terrifying nightmare sequences. Extremely bonkers and crazy in all the right ways.

Everything leads to an intense, crazy and entertaining climax that you don't always see in 80s horror!

All the performances were also all excellent!

Give this film a watch. 100%.

Argylle (2024)

Enjoyable!
11 March 2024
Argylle. A really fun movie. While not an Oscar worthy movie, it's full of shocks, surprises, twists, turns and FUN. It has a really wonderful ensemble cast led by Bryce Dallas Howard who is incredible in her role, with supporting cast members including Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Henry Cavill, Ariana Debose, John Cena, Samuel L Jackson, Dua Lipa, Sofia Boutella, Tomas Paredes, and Stanley Morgan with cameos from Richard E. Grant, Rob Delaney and Jing Luis. Talk about an ensemble cast! Wow.

As the movie was far from serious, rather comical and light, I found myself enjoying it quite a bit for a nice change in the "spy" genre.

The twists and turns felt like they kept on coming and coming, which I really enjoyed. Without spoiling toooo much, the twists keep on coming even after the first credits start to roll!

Some of the special effects weren't perfect, but I was able to overlook it because I was having such a fun time!

Give this one a try for a fun time and don't go into it too seriously! I also have to give a shout out to the real star of the show- The Cat, Chip! Played by the directors wife's own cat! 🐱

Bella Baxter is Queen!
11 March 2024
Poor Things-Very easily a 10/10. Literally zero complaints. Well crafted, visually stunning feminine Frankenstein inspired tale. This one literally checked all the boxes. Stunning costumes. Beautiful makeup and hairstyling. Extremely good score. Brilliant production design. Outstanding cinematography. Perfect storyline. Emma Stone gave the performance of a lifetime here with immaculate character development. The supporting cast members were 100% spot on as well. Congratulations on 11 Oscar nominations and 4 wins and being the 2nd most nominated film of the year. Much deserved. By far my favorite film by Lanthimos.

Imaginary (2024)

Not as bad as everyone is saying! I enjoyed it!
11 March 2024
Imaginary, 2024. Not terrible for a pg-13 horror film! I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. Compared to 'Night Swim', another pg-13 horror movie to come out earlier this year, this one was a little better for me! While in no way a masterpiece, I found it enjoyable and some good scares! As it may have felt a little like 'Insidious' at the end, I enjoyed some of the twists throughout the film as well as some good jump scares! And who am I kidding? It is always lovely to see Betty Buckley on the screen! DeWanda Wise was great as well. It's a fun and easy watch, not too scary. Although, I will say it has one tiny scene that gave me a fright!

One of my favorite films of all time
17 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is by far one of my favorite films of all time. Carey Mulligan delivers a knock out performance. Her Oscar nomination was so well deserved. The supporting cast was also fantastic. A stellar mix of comedy, thriller, drama and horror. Emerald Fennell is truly a wonderful new director. I just watched Saltburn and she continues to amaze me. Give this film a shot and you won't regret it! It will make you feel a whirlwind of emotions and it has an ending to die for. (No spoiler intended). I cannot wait to see if Fennell and Mulligan team up for a 3rd time! Surely that would be just as amazing. 10/10.

They were right. We're all going to lose our minds
17 December 2023
Wow. I have watched the film four times and each time I love it more! I loved Emerald's 'Promising Young Woman' a couple years back so I have been excited since this film was announced. This film will take you places you didn't know you could go. An absolute thrill ride with an ending you don't want to miss. The camera work was stunning. Barry Keoghan and Rosamund Pike were both standouts and I'm so happy to see their golden globe nominations! The rest of the cast was also stellar. I loved Carey Mulligan's cameo scenes. She is absolutely incredible. This film is a wild, crazy, bonkers ride and I am here for it! I hope this film performs well that the Oscars. Easily in my top 3 favorite films of this year, possibly even number 1. (And I watch a lot of movies- 103 in theatres alone in 2023 as of 12/16/23). Those who are easily disturbed may not enjoy it but the film did what it intended to do. Excellent.

Shocked me!
2 September 2023
I had the pleasure of screening this at a movie theatre in Kansas City, where this film was made. I had the pleasure of meeting the director, Patrick Rhea and the lead actress, Sarah McGuire, both super nice people and did a q&a.

The ending of the film actually did shock me. It was a pleasant surprise.

For me, it was so cool seeing a film that was filmed in my area by local filmmakers.

As you can tell it's a low budget horror film, it didn't take away from the great performances and shock factor of the ending.

I would recommend giving it a shot with an open mind. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Great.
10 December 2022
100% absolutely amazing. I loved the casting. This is a rare film that made me laugh, cry and feel true emotion all at the same time.

This film makes you think about your own life, your own love and remind you, that you never know how long you truly have.

The cast was all fabulous.

As a gay man, it felt so nice to see this type of film hit cinemas.

Hearing the entire theatre cry their eyes out in the last half hour must prove they did a job well done.

For sure one of my favorite films of the year.

Jim Parsons was a huge stand out. Very well casted and very well acted.

Please go see this movie.

Jessica Chastain is the BEST.
28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really truly enjoyed this true-crime thriller! Jessica and Eddie both did really well. But, off her oscar win, Jessica Chastain delivers another knock out performance. She is already one of my (if not my) favorite actresses.

She is rue hero of this true-story and she gave it her ALL. Her character, based off a real nurse, had her own medial struggles, yet put everyone else ahead of her at all times. She was such a caring and kind person, and yes a really Good Nurse.

This film was also incredibly emotional and shocking. Knowing that hospitals never did anything about this is the true crime here.

Gut wrenching. Beautiful film.

So good
14 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
People are crybaby's who don't like anything different. Get over it. This film is actually really well made.

I don't get what everyone is crying about. I really don't.

Laurie strode is the heart and soul of this franchise and finally gets an honorable and deserving conclusion.

It's so original and unlike any of the others... which is a good thing... we don't need the same story over and over and over. We really don't.

This new trilogy is the only timeline I will watch from now on. I love it.

This is a Laurie Strode trilogy. Do people forget, Michael is a villain. He is not invincible.

Amazing convulsion.

Finally a movie that scared me
1 October 2022
Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I actually jumped!!! A couple times!

Now, I love horror films. But this one finally scared me! Horror usually doesn't scare me at this point so when one comes along that makes me scared, it deserves a little bit of praise, despite any flaws.

Bacon was incredible here too. I've never really seen her in anything before but man, she did a great job.

The supporting cast was great too!

That ending was insane and unsettling amount other intense moments.

I would highly recommend this movie. I would highly highly highly recommend seeing it in the theatre where it's meant to be seen.
