Alexander: The Making of a God (2024)
The worst Alexander depiction of all time
Are you guys hoping to see Alexander studying with Aristotle? Or maybe how he tamed his famous horse? Or the epic campains in which he, together with his father, subdued the great Greek cities? How they annihilated the Sacred Band of Thebes? Tough luck. But in exchange, you will see him licking and kissing Hephaestion. Whom in turn is calling him Alex, like they are in third grade in the school yard.
They didn't even bother to make-up Fillip's eye even though any school boy knows that he lost his right eye in battle. Whoever produced this abomination should really consider another career, movie making is not for him.
Capra cu trei iezi (2022)
Could have been better
The biggest problem of this movie is that the bad guy in it has no motive to kill the children. The wolf from the fairy tale had a very good one: wolves eat goats. Marius Bodochi did a good job portraying a psychopath but even a psychopath needs a reason to kill, decapitate, eat two boys. His sexual attraction to the widow cannot be a reason for such a crime and its also pretty hilarious. The woman portrayed by Maia Morgenstern in this movie has all the qualities of a Romanian women of the past, she is brave, hard working, perfectly able to run a house of four by herself. One thing she isn't is sexually attractive.
Teambuilding (2022)
Overhyped garbage
Oh my God, this movie is beyond bad. The script must have been written by a 5 years old kid. Close to zero character development. A few jokes which were not even funny, the rest were just vulgarities pretending to be jokes. Acting was terrible, except for Serban Pavlu, but even him had to cope with the idiotic script. The regional accents were so bad that it literally scratched your ears, did the directors of this movie ever heard a person from Cluj speaking?
I will not get my hour and a half back, but I will definitely avoid the next movie these guys make like the plague. I'm glad that at least I made the right choice of waiting for Netflix to broadcast it instead of wasting money in the theater.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Great Christmas surprise from Netflix
I was browsing Netflix on Christmas morning without much hope. And there it was, a story with stone potential played by a stellar cast. It had to be good and it was. I would actually give it an 8-9, the 10 is for balancing the no brainers who give 1 star for such a movie. This is satire at it's finest, one of the best depictions of the society we live in that I ever saw. Thank you Netflix for this Christmas gift.
Ojing-eo geim: Unsu joeun nal (2021)
How?
How could these guys screw up the last 3 episodes so badly? The first episodes were interesting and episode 6 was an absolute masterpiece. Why did someone felt such an urge to just destroy everything they built? After episode 6 things got from bad to worse and finally to complete disaster.
The VIPs were terrible, script, acting, casting, everything about them was a major let down.
The fatal wound of Sae-byeok was ridiculous, very lazy writing. That character deserved much better.
The police guy struggles to uncover everything just to take his discovery up a cliff where he gets shot and falls into the sea. Can anyone see the point in all his effort?
Sang-woo proved several times that he is ready to do whatever it takes to win the game. Are we really supposed to believe that during the final game he decides to cut his own neck instead of his opponents? Just because he was bit by the leg and got a few punches?
Gi-hun is soooooo depressed that for one year he doesn't meet his daughter or the brother of his dead friend who he promised to look after. And when he finally decides to see his daughter, he gets back to take on the whole game thing single handedly in a lame promise for a season 2 (which by the way, I will NOT watch).
And regarding the Oh Il-nam, that plot twist doesn't make any sense. That guy was one inch away from death in the rope game. He was the one who decided to stop the whole thing after the first game. He soiled his pants before his final game. Does any of these sound like something the big mastermind behind everything would do? No, he should have definitely remain just a sick old man who served Gi-hun an amazing lesson in episode 6.
Friends: The Reunion (2021)
Loved it
I'm so happy to see them all together and I wish all of them the best!
The Walking Dead: The Tower (2020)
That's it for me.
I was once a big fan, spent nights binging thru 4 - 5 episodes in a row. I kept hoping that this show will get back to what it used to be, at some point. Now I know it, I'm just fooling myself. No point to continue wasting time with this garbage. Are we really supposed to be that stupid to believe that a wacko with trendy clothes and fresh makeup would survive alone for like 10 years in a middle of a city? If it's that easy, what was the point of all the struggles of the last 10 seasons? Total nonsensical garbage, I'm out.
John Wick (2014)
Duty to society
As one of my fellow reviewers recommended in one of the earlier comments, I saw the movie and now I am doing my duty to society, getting this abomination closer to the rating it should have. This is the cinema version of another abomination which is poisoning our children's brains these days, Fortnite. Nothing but mindless, senseless killing. I am sorry for Keanu Reeves for having his name forever linked to this pile of garbage.
Aladdin (2019)
Bringing back memories
People, please stop comparing this movie with the animated version and I guarantee you will enjoy it a lot. I loved the animated version in my childhood and watching this new adaptation brought back memories and feelings which were buried deep inside my brain. Watching it made me extremely happy. Give it a chance, watch it with an open mind and you will not regret it.
And one more thing, if Jasmine is not your favourite Disney princess already, it will surely become after watching Naomi Scott playing it.
