Virgin River (2019)
Good and bad
Well, first of all this is a total rip off from Heart of Dixie, so the screenwriters can me commended for their originality.
But apart from that it's a nice story. The atmosphere is amazing and all the actors are just amazing. Really good actor.
EXPECT the main character. First of all she always styled from head to toe. You can see the make-up on her face trying to make her look younger and her hair looks like she just left the hairdresser every time. Why do all series do this nowadays. It looks so fake. What ever happened to reality?
But the worst part is that the whole town is being extremely nice to hear but she always has a dissatisfied look on her face. It makes her extremely unlikable and I'm pretty sure the makers and trying to make her look sympathetic but it's not working.
Always the same emotionless expressing and sometimes she can draw out a slight fake smile.
With another lead role actress this could be one of the best series of the year in this genre.
Unfortunately she looks bored, too old, too styled and without any emotion. And it's boring...
Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019)
Extremely predictable...very unoriginal. Writer had no inspiration.
The first episode is not very catchy but later on you start to get into it a bit. But then the same thing happens with most series nowadays. The stories become insanely predictably. All that's missing is an unwanted pregnancy and it's ticked off all the predictable boxes.
Clearly they've poured a lot of money into this serie and it's just pretty damn bad. All series have coincidences and misunderstandings to create drama but here you can see it coming from a mile away. Also nothing about this serie seems original. Kind of like they stole some storylines from other bad movies and series and pasted them together.
Lost my focus half way the first season and not even sure when I quit watching. Couldn't take it anymore.
About Time (2013)
Boring...after you watched you feel like you've wasted 2 hours
I can't help it but the main character was just really boring and annoying. He has this superpower but only uses it to manipulate people.
And I really hate myself for saying this because it's so superficial but the main character is just sooo extremely unattractive, and quite thick to be honest and with this superpower and a real blind-blind date he manipulates himself into a relationship with this gorgeous girl.... Get out of here....
You Me Her (2016)
Being overstyled makes is unrealistic....nothing new tbh
I love this storyline, the actors, the setting. It's cool, new, interesting and inspiring in many ways. But the fact that they wake up with perfectly styled hair ALL THE TIME, is just so distracting. I don't know why American series always do this. You can actually imagine them sitting by the hairstyling right before they do on set and crawl into bed to wake up with perfect hair, or do shopping, or walk into the office.
The female mail character has gotten the same hair now in season 3. She was the only one that look slightly realistic and now that character is ruined too.
Also in the appartment you never see any real mess, any books or clothes lying around (expect during sex ofcourse).
So I guess it's too American and mainstream for me and I can't get into it. I feel like there's just one styling who does series and they all look the same.
I thought this would be a bit more down and dirty (aka realistic) but nope.
