This movie is absolutely NOTHING like the books. The characters are are so radically different, the plot is completely different, it doesn't even make sense to call itself Twitches. I remember seeing this as a kid who loved the book series. This movie series is more disappointing than an oatmeal cookie and my father combined.
These movies are pretty much just Sister Sister with witches, which is not the tone of the books whatsoever. Cam is a sporty soccer player, Alex is a goth. There's no "darkness", there no doors to other dimensions. It literally took out the biggest plot point and not only completely changed characters, but it axed some prominent characters in the series.
One of the biggest plot points in the book is having to rescue one of Cams favorite celebrities. They first saw each other at Alex's job at her job at an amusement park, but didn't talk then. Karsh is a kind old man and mentor, Ileana is a sassy youngling who's still learning about her role and taking care of the twins. There is no romance. Going to Coventry was a huge deal and done later in the series, as was meeting their mother.
It's been years since I've read this series, but I still can't believe how incredibly disappointing this movie series was. The director and screen writers deserve to be hexed for ruining what could have been a great adaptation.
