Awkward Silence (2018)
This movie delves into communication issues in relationships in a unique & powerful way
This film is incredibly beautiful! It's artistic, thought provoking and delicately romantic. The director takes you on a journey inside an unconventional relationship and explores the difficulty of communication in a very unique manner. While most couples struggle to communicate while speaking the same language Aaron and Eva have the added barrier by means of Aaron's deafness. We watch as the couple lovingly work together to communicate and fall deeply for each other, but their love isn't enough to mask the feeling of exclusion and loneliness in social settings. Eddie and Tanya who play Eva & Aaron do a wonderful job of bringing you into the film with them. While the restaurant scene really struck a chord and made us all angered with Eva we still sympathize with her struggle. We also have total understanding for Aaron's frustration and his "boiling over" moment. But in the end after expressing all that they needed to express... the director ends the film letting the audience come up with their own conclusion and a question ... will they keep filling in the empty pages in the book of lost communication?... would you?
