Blackpool (2004)
Came for Tennant...stayed bc it was great
I've been trying to watch as many things with David Tennant as possible bc boy oh boy he's just stellar in everything he does. I finally found this on Roku so I had to quickly pick this up before it was taken off.
At first the singing was off putting but it quickly grew on me how they integrated the songs so well that I was looking forward to them as the series went on. The mystery wasn't even the main part. It really was about all the characters and how they interacted with each other. Everyone was great and this was a truly enjoyable 6 episode series that I will definitely be rewatching. Great fun show!
Shameless: Father Frank, Full of Grace (2021)
Solid ending
I usually like closure at the end of shows so I know what happened and feel good about people I've grown to love over the years. However, I thought this finale, even with lack of closure, was well done. Gallagher's always get by and stick together and we don't need to know every detail -it lets you imagine what you want for them. I want Lip to get himself together and remember he's a genius, I want Ian and Mickey to have a family because they deserve it, I want Carl to make something of himself-if I got real answers, they may not live up to my expectations. I don't want Kev and V to go but they deserve a great life too.
I love that even without any big wrap ups-they gave us a glimpse at how Ian and Mickey will make it just fine. It gave me at least one "happy ending".
Franks letter was spot on with how he felt about his kids. I loved the Debbie and Liam part -It was so "Frank".
All in all, it was satisfying to see them all being them. No big drama, just Gallaghers.

Ian and Mickey
This was a fun hour of just Ian and Mickey-loved looking back on their journey and how great these actors are!
