King of the Hill (1997)
One of the greatest shows ever!
Along with "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy," this is one of the best shows ever. "King of the Hill" is the polar opposite of "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy." While those shows tend to be based around loud, flashy humor, KOTH is a dry humor show. The way the characters react to eachother and the world is brilliant. Dale Gribble is the funniest character but the others are great, too. Give this show a chance and you'll be glad you did! 5 OUT OF 5.
The Scorpion King (2002)
Action packed thrill ride that beats "The Mummy Returns" hands down!
I was very impressed by this film. It had wonderful sets and settings, funny characters, and minute after minute of heart pounding action! Now I'm not a fan of The Rock or wrestling for that matter, but he did extremely well. He shouldn't be compared to Arnie, rather an actor on his own. He was a fun guy to root for. The story is set in Egypt and the surrounding lands in the time before the pyramids (I think in The Mummy Returns they said about 6000 years ago?). Mathayus (The Rock) is an Acadian, the last of a tribe of deadly assassins, who is hired to kill the sorceror (who turns out to be a sorceress). He learns he is betrayed and instead of killing her takes her with him. Although a bad guy in "Returns", The Scorpion King plays a good guy in this film. Maybe they will make another film showing how he goes down the path to evil (ala Star Wars). This movie was extremely well made concidering it came out ELEVEN MONTHS after "Returns". If you want to have a great time don't miss it! 8 out of 10 stars.
The X Files (1998)
"This movie still makes sense even if you are not a fan of the show?" Thats BS!
Ok, let me just start out by saying I love the X-Files. But when I first saw this movie I had only seen about 10 min. of the show in my entire life. I had no idea what was going on. The film assumes you know all the characters and plots of past episodes. I was very confused. Not to long after seeing the movie I became a huge fan of the show. I watched as many past episodes as I could and read about as many as I could. I saw the movie a second time and it made a lot more sense, but not completely. However, it is a good movie and very enjoyable. To understand this you MUST watch at least some past episodes of the show. My rating: 8 out of 10 or **** out of *****.
The Last Patrol (2000)
Garbage
This is garbage. The plot is terrible. We are supposed to believe that there is an Earthquake in California and all of the sudden a secret prision and a group of soldiers met by some stragglers are the last people on Earth? That the Earth's axis would shift? In the beginning we are told that the Earthquake occurred along the San Andreas fault in California. Than why does the ocean that separates Cali and the mainland start where Las Vegas used to be. No explanation is given for the mutated milk man and goats. The psychic religion teacher who can make rain and predict "big changes." Now for the ending. Anyone who saw it will understand how terrible it was. Our hero drives a car w/ a bomb strapped on the top onto a prison and jumps out 5 feet away from the explosion only to return at the end. Rent this movie only to help the economy.
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy (1996)
Funny as hell!!!!!!!
Please, if you are a fan of comedy or a kids in the hall fan do yourself a favor and see this movie.See these 5 professionals act as over 40 diffrent caracters in this nonstop comic picture. When I first saw it I loved all the characters, there was 2 who left me holding my sides. The 1st Bruce McCulloch's "Cisco" who cant go 5 sec. w/o saying f**k.The other is Scott Thompson's "Wally" will leave you cracking up untill his "coming out of the closet" scene when he leaves laughing to death on the floor. And if u see this movie and love it I suggest you watch the kids in the the reruns on comedy central.Come on ,see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
