Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (2010)
If you like Rush you need to watch
I have been a fan of this band since I was 14 years old. I first saw them live at Madison Square Garden in NYY (1981). My two older brothers introduced me to Rush and I have loved them since.
This film / documentary chronicles the band from their very beginnings to today. If you are a Rush fan or if you want to learn about a band from Canada that has influenced so many other bands around the world you need to check out this film.
Check it out just to listen to their music.
A band from Toronto with a song called YYZ, can you ask for anything more!
Festival Express (2003)
What a TRIP!!!!
I wasn't stoned, drunk or trippin' but I had a great time watching this flashback to 1970. The Dead, Janis, The Band all had very good performances. Buddy Guy and his band were probably the only black guys in Winnipeg!
If you like the music go see this movie. If you like history go see this movie. This was Woodstock plus one year! Janis died a few months later.
Peace Love and Rock & Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Canada what a trip!
Toronto to Calgary I wonder if they remember any of it?
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
Too long!
The quality of this movie is excellent. The problem is that the ending should have come 30 minutes sooner. The ending with the "Close Encounters" type aliens is a little too much. Osment is amazing as David. He makes the movie worth seeing even if it is too long and a little confused in the middle.
The Last Marshal (1999)
It is ok if it is a free rental!
I rented this movie because I had a coupon for a free rental. I am glad that I did not have to pay because it is not worth paying for. The acting was very stiff and the editing was bad. The story could have been handled much better and when I read the back of the box I expected a sort of Miami Vice like movie but as it turned out Miami Vice had much better acting and much better dialog. If the four letter words were removed from the script this would have been a silent movie!
