WHY??
29 October 2000
I hate to say this, but I actually watched this show. I can barely remember the show's plot. I think George Foreman played a retired boxer who became a substitute teacher for a class of troubled kids. I remember the kid named Daniel being the worst. I only watched the show because of Sheryl lee ralph, the woman is very hot!!!! I think it only lasted ten episodes but i watched it and I can only say WHY??

Guilty Pleasure
16 September 2000
I always considered this show as a guilty pleasure of mine. Ever since my cousin showed me her tapes of reruns, I fell in love with the corny and gooey but loveable sitcom. When USA was showing reruns at 11AM, I made sure I was up to watch it over the summer, just to get my day started. I did not really like the episodes before actress Nancy Mckeon made her debut as the tough but winsome "Jo". I think Nancy is a wonderful actress, and she reigns supreme when it comes to decent TV movies (my favorite was that mafia one). I also enjoy the acting of every other character on the show(except George Clooney, his role should have been played by "ER" great Anthony Edwards). My family thinks I am obsessed with this show but I could care less. So much as my friends dont know about my guilty pleasure. I LOVE YA TOOTIE!

I Dug It

It's a shame that FOX had to end such a funny show. I honestly think it could have lasted at least two seasons. My favorite character was Kadeem Hardison's and the fat guy (I forgot his name). I would always watch this show on Thursday nights along with "Living Single" and "New York Undercover". The reruns should come on USA since every other short-lived sitcom ends up on that channel.

IT Was So-So

I give the pilot episode a C- because I honestly dont think it measures up to the movie itself. I can respect the actors for their half-Butt performance but most of the story lines seemed dry. And some things made no sense. The only characters who resembled that of the movie were Teri's role and Maxine's role, and I just admire Isiah Washington as an actor. But there was another problem, who told Boris Kodjoe he could act? I honestly think they needed a pretty boy on the show and show off his body, but I barely understood what he said. I believe the show has enough potential to last a good seven episodes. If it even lands a second season, lucky them,

NASTY

Everytime this movie comes on HBO, I am sucked in because Denise Richards is such a hottie. But the plot always seemed to confuse me. Little did I know that ... oops let me not say anything! For what it is worth it could have been an adult movie because of the constant sex. But I also love Daphne Rubin-Vega, from my favorite musical RENT.

Give It Credit

Okay, okay, so this movie did not equal up to its first. But this movie had some high points. First of all, many of the kids were talented and their two performances were the highlight of the movie. The only problem was that the movie was not as funny as the first. Whooopi was given a lousy script and the other nuns provided nothing at all. Even their rendition of "Ball of Confusion" sucked and does not compare to "My god" . But someday, this film will become a cult classic and win an award.

ITS JUST FUNNY!

Some movies are just supposed to be funny, and this movie fits the bill. I hate it when critics go to movies like this and expect an oscar winner, becuase some movies are just made to entertain and not to teach. I really enjoyed this movie and it is one of Lawrence's best, besides "Life" and "House Party". Sometimes his voice gets annoying, but his acting was comparable to his TV show. The sexy Nia Long helped provide a plot to the story, she didn't have to be funny she was just there to look beautiful and that she did. Terrence Howard's role was small and it was so unlike his funnyman role in "The Best Man", but he was still good. The white guy (I forget his name) was funny too in a White humor kind of way. Because I have been to the South, some of the portrayals of Southern life and people are between accurate and stereotypes. But sometimes stereotypes make a movie more humorous. I would recommend anyone to see this movie, but I prefer they see it at matinee time.

I LOVED IT!
28 April 2000
I truly enjoyed this movie. Though I'm not a big Omar Epps fan, I did enjoy Sanaa Lathan's performance as Monica. She lets the audience know that not all black girls care about weaves and malls. The movie was not as funny as I thought. I mean there were funny parts but I expected a Martin Lawrence type humor. But not all Black movies are buffonish. All in all it was a great movie. And I enjoyed Tyra Banks brief appearance.
