Belphegor: Phantom of the Louvre (2001)

A huge disappointment that you should stay away from!

A confusing, senseless script with plot holes the size of the Eiffell Tower. Terrible acting by all involved - no exception! Laughable and cheesy dialogue. Lame attempts at humor and romance. Extremely cheap special effects. All this makes for a giant mess of a film, you'd best avoid.

Waking Up in Reno (2002)

This kind of dull material is beneath Thornton and Theron

Boring stuff with just a few dumb and rather obvious jokes in between. Thornton is on autopilot, playing these kind of goofy southerners in his sleep by now. Theron, Richardson and Swayze come across all white trash with little else to do. The story is rather thin, barely holding up for 87 minutes. The characters are very two-dimensional and there is a definite low-budget feel to the whole film.

Oh yeah, Penélope Cruz is in it as well, also not adding much as a hooker, working from a sleazy roadside motel bar.

If you think about seeing this because you like any one of the stars, try another movie. They all made tons of better ones.

This is supposed to be based on the movie of the same name, but actually has very little to do with it. Much rather it's your typical run-of-the-mill sitcom with a quirky but supposedly lovable lead character and even odder sidekicks. The show ran for twelve episodes before it was rightfully canceled. Die-hard Bullock-fans should see it for Sandy's really bad Eighties hairdo throughout the entire series, everybody else is not missing much...

Into My Heart (1998)

Wonderful performances by all four leads (Fornlani, Morrow, Weber and Brook) and a terrific screenplay add up to very good indie-type film about relationships in the 90s. See it, if you're NOT just an action-junkie!
