Scream 3 (2000)
Cannot be the end
14 August 2000
If you have seen this movie, you know what I mean. When the original Scream came out, Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson promised a trilogy making fun of every aspect of scary movie series, while at the same time being scary as well. This third installment was like Halloween two, or Friday the 13 four. It was the conclusion. It was the end

Not too bad of an ending, with bringing back randy for his world famous "rules speech". It includes an opening death which shocks you, as it involves a main character. Though I admit they only flushed out two new characters, Kincaid and Jennifer, the others did not need to be flushed out. They are actors, and what is the stereotype on actors, skin deep. The deaths bring back memories of suspence and horrors early days, when you did not have too see everything, and it was scary because you used your imagination.

On to my point though. This is not the end. Every horror franchise has a rebirth movie, which has nothing to do with the others, Halloween three, friday the thirteenth 5, etc. Lets see Scream 4: The new class. After that, they can put the series to rest if they want.

good film, though at times spotty
3 July 2000
I believe overall this was a good film, though a bit spotty at times. The intro was great, as it shows how everything comes full circle, and points to a fact every music lover knows, that boy bands were inspired by the monkees. I believe the choice in actors was excellent, I really believed Peter Tork was a druggie while watching this film. Other commenters claimed this movie lacked a feel of the sixties, but it should lack a sense of the sixties, as the monkees never really became a part of everything going on around them until the very end, hence the rapid change to psychedelic music and movies. Overall, I believe this film did an excellent job doing what it was trying to do, portray the monkees as reluctant heartthrobs. However, every once in a while, it becomes spotty.

The Goonies (1985)
adolescent fun
7 December 1999
I see this movie, and it always reminds me of my childhood. This movie is exactly how I was in my adolescence. I ran around, pretending to look for treasure and such. However, these kids have one slight difference from me, they really looked for treasure. This movie plays off of stereotypes for kids, the cripple, the brain, the mouth, the clutz, etc. and binds them together in a realistic manner. Plus, it's a good old fashioned adventure. Another added plus is I work with the mentally impaired a lot. John Matuszac's portrayal of Sloth is very realistic, and I think he should have gotten on Oscar for his portrayal. And, just so everyone knows, I have a friend who acts and looks like chunk. Overall, it was an excellent movie, and I would watch it constantly.

Excalibur (1981)
10/10
Awesome
6 December 1999
I have seen the movie Excalibur many times, and I believe it is an excellant movie. Many people say that it was cheezy looking (Yes, Excalibur the sword does get a tad flexible at points.) However, was not The Day the Earth Stood Still cheezy too, yet it is one of the greatest movies of all times, most people agree. And if anyone tries to down the movie by claiming it was not true to the legends, I have read many Arthurian texts, and the legend is not true to the legends. John Boorman picked through the haystack, and found his needle. Another excellant thing about this movie is for the most part, the acting is underscored. Not like in many modern movies, I believe Nicol Williamson, Helen Mirren, all the actors from the round table, and Mrs. Boorman did excellant jobs. The only complaints I had were so minor they practically do not exist. So go, see the movie, and be swept away.
