Cookie's Fortune (1999)
About as funny as anything I've ever seen once it gets going.
This film starts off at a slow pace. You aren't sure where Altman is going with it, but gradually it takes hold. And once it does, the comedy comes at you so fast you aren't able to here all the jokes over the audiences laughter. This is the way all films should be made, with more control given to the actor so they can give their own performance their way
The Gingerbread Man (1998)
Easily the best John Grisham adaptation.
Of all the films from the John Grisham courtroom genre, this one features the best acting. This is, of course, due to the wise and experienced direction of Robert Altman. What I can't understand is why Polygram didn't release the picture on a wider scale. It could have done very well if it were given half a chance.
That Cold Day in the Park (1969)
Sandy Dennis gives a spellbinding performance.
This is another of Robert Altman's underrated films(let's be honest, the only movie he's made that really didn't work was Ready to Wear), and Sandy Dennis gives a spellbinding performance in it.She is far better here than she was in "The Out of Towners". The material, I will admit, is beneath the great director Altman and the extraordinary actress Dennis, but that hardly matters anyway. As long as there allowed to do their thing and do it well, just about any story will do.
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (1987)
As far as old Nintendo games go, this one is unsurpassed.
If you long for a more simplistic time in video games, then this is the title for you.The one thing that blows me away about this game is that your opponents actually have faces, and they make humorous expressions when you punch them.Modern day 64 bit games can't even manage that.In my opinion this game is timeless, it'll surely live on in my heart.
