Alias: The Lost Episode (2002)
Very funny for Alias fans, non-fans will still enjoy it...
This is a great parody of the Alias series. If you were like me, hooked on the show from the first episode, but disappointed in several key or not so key points of the show, then this parody is for you. If you get a chance to view the short "They Came to Attack Us" from the same duo you will enjoy it as well. Hope to see more from these guys. ;)
Battlestar Galactica (2003)
I disagree with negative reviews...
I disagree with all the negative reviews I have read of this mini-series. Most recently, a reviewer for a popular NY publication(Can I say who and what paper?) Spoke of Galactica's lack of clarity concerning whether or not it was a remake or set in the future. I can only best answer these idiotic questions with a quote from my favorite Sci-fi/comedy 'Galaxy Quest'; "Did you even watch the show?!?"-Guy. It could not have been clearer to the viewer what was being attempted here. It was a wonderful breath of fresh air for sci fi fans who have painfully watched(or not watched) the Trek franchise slowly die, or have lost faith in the ego-maniac that is Lucas. We were introduced to almost all the characters from the original series reinvented or reinterpreted plus several new great ones.
The special effects alone put "Attack of the Clones" to shame. I only wish the cylons ships were closer to the classic oval shape and not like the shadow ships from 'Blabalong5'. I am aware that the theme seemed to steal a little from other sci-fi shows but lets remember that the original pretty much was intended to ride on "Star Wars" wave of success to the point that Lucas tried to sue the producers a long time ago... Funny that a die hard "Star Wars" fan could have more anticipation for a new Galactica weekly series than for 'Episode III'
