Passion of Mind (2000)
A romantic "psycho-love story" that could have gone much further.
Slightly bland love story with psychopatological elements where a woman lives two different lives in different countries (France and New York,US) but is unable to distinguish which one is real and which is just a dream. The movie has high production values but could have gone much further on its premise. An ultra romantic soundtrack doesn't help either.
Pájaros de ciudad (1981)
Quite unique. An almost unknown movie that deserved better luck.
Barely seen in Spain, "Pájaros de ciudad" (a.k.a. "Supermarket", as it was shown in Italy and Mexico) is a strange and powerful first movie. Nicely filmed, it deals with themes as the tight control States are using against citizens and human relationships. It has a shocking ending that gives sense to the story. This is an almost unknown movie that deserved a better luck.
Gallipoli (1981)
One of Peter Weir's best
An anti-war movie with very good performances by Lee and Gibson (before getting lost in empty blockbusters). Watch it on the big screen if you can, Weir knows how to use the wide Panavision screen and it shows here. With "The Last Wave", one of Peter Weir's better movies.
