Great episode with lots of character development for both the JSA and ISA, the two-parter ended wi

The last part of the two-parter and was it a good conclusion to the episode 'Shiv'. The high focus on the villain side of the story is continued with Cindy Burman and her father which is Shiv and Lizard King individually. On the hero side we get some great character moments and all the actors gets time to shine, there's also some fine character development. Luke Wilson was the best, he totally nailed it in this episode and so did Neil Jackson both of them brought their A games. There's so much character development and story progress in regards of the ISA, more so than the JSA members and it was needed after couple of episodes of mostly JSA stuff. The writers again does a splendid job at mixing the two tones, I like how it isn't black and white and that everyone has flaws. Something that superheroes often lacks.

I found the visual effects to be very good and pleasing for the eyes in this episode, it was probably better because it was less of it. The music was also good and flowed well the fight sequence. Good edited.

The rivalry between Courtney and Cindy, Stargirl and Shiv continues to grow and I can't wait how their next fight will play out. The fight choreography in this episode wasn't that great but the drama between the two was great! The huge amount of screen time Henry got was needed as I strongly believe he will eventually become one of the most well written and memorable characters.

More pros and cons

Stronger than part one, including a great fight scene and raised stakes. However, the characters still make poor decisions and Cindy can still be too over-the-top.

A worthy adversary

Warning: Spoilers
I made the decision to review these latest two episodes together, as the story seems very captivating right now.

Cindy Burman (Meg DeLacey) has been an antagonist since the beginning of the series, after all, it was her who publicly distributed Yolanda's intimate photos throughout the school, but now we have discovered that not only is she Lizard King's daughter, but she is also a super villain in her own right, Shiv.

Her powers have been enhanced by chemical experiments performed on her by her father, but all she wants is a seat at the table, and she thinks that finding and destroying Stargirl will grant her that.

A lot of secrets are revealed in these two episodes, as the identities of the new Justice Society of America are about to not be a secret anymore.

It's a no-brainier, these two deserve a rating of 10/10.

This show has been renewed for a second season, and I can't wait for the imminent and inevitable crescendo of the first season finale.

One of the season's best!

Warning: Spoilers
Ever since the strong first quartet of episodes to this freshman season, the following three episodes didn't quite live up to that standard. But this episode SHIV PART TWO is a welcome return to form. In Part One, Cindy was pretty much the only good thing about the episode. But in this second part, everything else was actually good too! Meg DeLacy somehow topped her strong performance in Part One with an even more amazing performance in Part Two. NOW I know why the writers have been saving this awesome teen character because they were afraid she'd upstage Stargirl! LOL And in fact, she pretty much did in this one. Also Luke Wilson continues to act superbly in this series.

This one featured several great scenes of two-character interactions: Pat-Courtney, Mike-Courtney, Pat-Beth and last but not least Cindy-Courtney. The family dynamic among Pat, Courtney, Mike and Barb is fantastic. Thanks to being paired with the awesome Pat, this has got to be the first episode of the entire season where Beth's character actually fit in. The scenes of them infiltrating the Burman home were pretty funny. If Pat hadn't joined Beth on her poorly conceived mission, I shudder to think how cringe those scenes would have ended up with just Beth and those silly goggles going solo. Also, Cindy's stepmother Bobbi was a hilarious character in this one. Why does the show keep hiding all of this great talent? But Cindy herself really owned this episode. A perfect balance of being an impetuous and spoiled teenager but also a deliciously evil villain. By the end of the season, I might be coming back to this episode and ranking it at or near the top.

Very Tense
KookShanty8 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode had three very exciting and very tense storylines. Firstly we had Courtney talking to Cindy, and this entire scene was brilliantly done, and this lead into an awesome fight scene. There was also the JSA investigating Cindy, which was very entertaining but also intense. Finally there was the Henry story which was intriguing for what will happen next. I can't think of any serious problems with this episode.

the heroine is unflattering as always

Warning: Spoilers
I still say that the heroine is unflattering as always. Arrogant, arrogant, impulsive, and arrogant before things are clear. She is really disgusting. On the contrary, the role of the villains threatens the capitalists for the sake of environmental protection, more like the side of justice.
