Very simple movie.... maybe too simple..

First of all the positives.. Sreenivasan and Lena have done a great job as the childless couple who work in a school. Their life is simple and they love each other very much. Suddenly a boy claiming to be the son of the protagonist shows up. The dialogues are also written well and the movie is the right length for the subject being discussed. However, there is not much of a story here and it felt like the movie was a bit abrupt. At the end, you can't help but feel what the point was. Overall, its a one time watch and there seems to be some angles that have been left unexplored.

Capsule Review: Paviyettante Madhurachooral / Utter Nonsense / 2 Stars

It is rather difficult to digest that Sreenivasan wrote this utter disappointment of a film that only exists as a way to induce headache to the people who attempt to watch it. At the centre of this mindless drama are a husband and a wife (Sreenivasan and Lena), childless and self-sufficient, who work at a school as teachers. Their life turns upside down when a young boy (Shebin Benson) enters their life claiming to be the man's son from another marriage. What follows is more than what you can imagine as Paviyettante Madhurachooral (Pavithran's Sweet Admonishment) unleashes a second version of all the characters, emphasising on the wife's hyperactive reaction to the news. One of its biggest flaws is that it does not provide enough explanation to justify a character's action, and it sticks out.

It's been only a few minutes since I watched the film and I still cannot fathom the logic behind it as it ended with a flutter, making me curse myself. I get what Sreenivasan and the director were trying to say/show but the method in its current setting is nauseous at best. Even the part-funny, part-serious vibe or the screenplay that bare the poorly done stitches or Lena's performance do not help the film.

Do yourself a favour and forget that there ever was a film like this. TN.

(Watched and reviewed during its world television premiere on Asianet.)
