Dark Arts: Inside 'To the Devil a Daughter' (2018)
*** (out of 4)
Film historians Jonathan Rigby, Kevin Lyons and John J. Johnston discuss the 1976 Hammer film TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER, which would turn out to be their final horror picture for decades. If you're interested in the film in question then you'll certainly want to check out this documentary that does a nice job at taking you through all avenues of the film's production. This includes some great pre-production stories on how the film got made and what it took for Hammer to get the greenlight. From here we learn about the casting, the production of the movie, its release and its legacy. There are a lot of very good stories told from the three men that are interviewed and I think fans will enjoy their stories as well as their opinions on the film and where it stands in the Hammer cannon. It's too bad some cast members weren't interviewed but what's here is still entertaining.
