Come on.. Afaan Khan is a kid
saketsaurav-8682830 August 2017
This show has met with serious criticism right from the day its first promo was out. The creators tried to make a point saying that it has got a new idea. The problem with Indian soap writers is that they don't want to grow. They don't want to come out of their theme of local rural touch of caste and power in their writings. Balika Vadhu and Bhagya Vidhata were major successes that had traditional elements. The writers of Pehredaar Piya Ki simply listed out the needed recipe for success, got stuck to the Balika Vadhu story, and decided to do things upside down. We have many examples from all over the world where couples have great age disparities, but guess what, they all knew what they are doing. They were not kids at the time of their marriage. If a kid has a photogenic face and can act before the camera, Indian parents begin feeling blessed and force their kids in the factual world of Serials, reality shows and cinema to make money out of them. Looks like same is the case here. we all have freedom to speech and to express, but that doesn't mean you can go ahead with any kind of content. There are still great topics to be explored. We started with 'hum log', advanced to Ye Jo Hai Zindagi and Zamana Badal Gaya Hai, understood a lot of things in Office Office and then suddenly were forced back to medieval times with these childish and pathetic serials.

What were they thinking?

This is the most problematic and disgusting show I have ever seen. This show went off air after just 31 episodes and believe me even one episode of this type of crap is curse to the society. If you could reverse the role and think if a man marrying a 9 year old girl then you'll understand the true haunting and disturbing nature of this show. Creators if you can't make a show with good story then better not make this type of disturbing show either.

Glorifying social-evil
erisedwitch4528 August 2017
This show, for selfish financial gains, is glorifying one of the most prevalent social evil - child marriage, which physically and emotionally traumatizes numerous victims. The show has shown that child marriage is a cute relation, a friendship. The 9 yo boy is shown stalking and taking pictures of the girl unknown to her. Concepts of suhaag-raat (first night) and honey moon were introduced purposefully to grab eyeballs. It is sickening and morally disgusting to show take a crime and pass it on as cute. There is no scene of physical intimacy yet. Apart from the gross inhumane act by makers and defense by the lead actress, the show is the same old saga of submissive girl trying to get everyone in in-laws like her. It's a clichéd story with addition of child marriage to grab eyeballs. How can anyone find child marriage (even with no physical relation) cute is beyond me!

Unnecessary hate on a brilliant idea!!

Warning: Spoilers
I should begin with clearly stating that there is NO KIND of paedophilia promoted or shown in this show. I actually started watching this serial after the unnecessary hateful comments I browsed through and decided to check it out for myself.

The show, to put it simply, is a love story between two people that BEGINS when the boy is 9 years old and the girl is 18. Yes, they are married but it is out of circumstances, and a means to protect the boy from the people who want to kill him, and provide him with a guardian. The girl is mature enough to know her limits and treats him like an elder sister or a mother should. She dreams of a future as a proper wife but only when her husband has grown up! To Twilight fans, think of Jacob and Renesmee!

There is a lot of usual drama thrown in that is common for soap operas these days but I actually found myself enjoying it this time because the house politics is somewhat interesting and the chemistry between the cute kid and his wife is amazing.

I just wish that the so called modern society people hadn't shown their weak stomachs and crap*y mindsets by shouting at the top of their lungs whenever they see something new. Its Okay if you don't like it but stop making insinuations and decide for everyone. The little boy is being called a 'stalker' just because he follows the girl and clicks her pictures. Give a camera to any kid and allow him to roam free, you'll know what all they'll shoot. He thought of her as an angel because she was beautiful. That's it!!! He is a kid, give him a break. I had a crush on my teacher when I was in 4th class.

The people who watch GoT and don't complain, give their kids access to mobiles and internet for hours without batting an eye AND who talk of the freedom of expression are frankly behaving in a very bizarre fashion in regards to this show. Please keep to yourself or else go to China where there is plenty of censorship to go around.

Lastly, the show sometimes focuses on drama too much but whenever the kid comes and says 'Diyaaaaa' and she starts smiling after a crying session, the innocence they both make me feel...I just start longing for days gone by when I was a kid and wanted a 'PARI' for myself.

Like it or not, I do. 9/10
