Excellent nineteen-minute featurette from director David Gregory that interviews June Kirk, the sister to writer-producer Frank R. Saletri who is best known today for BLACKENSTEIN. If you're ever seen BLACKENSTEIN then you know it's one of the craziest and (to many) worst movies ever made. The producer was murdered in 1982 and he left a lot of unfilmed screenplays, which are discussed here as well as other aspects of his life. Gregory is a wonderful filmmaker and he always delivers great material when it comes to these featurettes and this here is one of his best. I say that because it works perfectly as a tribute to Saletri but it also gives his sister a chance to pay homage to her brother, tell some wonderful stories and just give people a better idea of who he was. There's some great moments dealing with some unfilmed screenplays of his and there are countless photos that I'm sure are being seen for the first time. The last portion deals with his murder and the sister's fight to try and find the guilty persons. This here is a truly great featurette and you don't even have to be a fan of BLACKENSTEIN to enjoy it.
