Angus MacKenzie heads to Italy to drive Ferrari's newest mid-engine supercar, the 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB. The 488 GTB is the first turbocharged mid-engine Ferrari since the legendary F40, and the successor to Motor Trend's 2011 Best Driver's Car winner, the 458 Italia. So it has some big shoes to fill.

Randy Pobst takes on the legendary Pikes Peak Hillclimb in a Nissan GT-R racecar. Packing nearly 700 horsepower, a full rollcage and slick tires, this race prepped GT-R was designed and built for the sole purpose of conquering the peak. Named after the GT3 race car, the R is the quickest roadgoing Bentley Motor Trend has ever tested, exploding to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. It's exhaust is so loud it got us in trouble on the race track, so clearly this is not your ordinary Bentley.

Jason Cammisa examines Range Rover's first SVR model. It was tuned on the Nürburgring, where Land Rover says it'll do a lap in 8 minutes, 14 seconds. That's sports-car territory - within 10 seconds of the Alfa Romeo 4C. It's got the right ingredients for speed - a 550-hp supercharged V-8, magnetic shocks, air springs, and hydraulic anti-roll bars, and aluminum construction.

Racing pro Randy Pobst gets his mitts on the brand new, third-generation Cadillac CTS-V. When the second-generation CTS-V came out with 556 horsepower, people could hardly believe it. Today, one model newer, and Cadillac has raised the horsepower bar again by grafting in the supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 straight outta Big Nasty, aka the Corvette Z06. Power is down compared to the Z06, though only fractionally.

This new supercar costs just a fraction as much as the cars it sits next to on the McLaren showroom floor. With a sticker price of just $187,400, the 570S is nearly a hundred grand cheaper than the 650S, and it's nearly as fast, too. The cost has come down by substituting aluminum body panels where carbon fiber was previously used, and conventional suspension in place of the 650S's interconnected hydraulic lines.
