Too Difficult For a Pack-In Game
jeremycrimsonfox19 June 2020
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (this being the 8-bit version) would be owned by some who owned a Game Gear, especially since it was a pack-in game for the handheld. In this, Tails has been captured by the evil Dr. Robotnik (or Dr. Eggman, if you prefer that name) and has made the poor fox write a letter to Sonic telling that Robotnik will release him if the hedgehog delivers the Chaos Emeralds to him.

So, playing as Sonic, you must brave six zone in order to find the Chaos Emeralds while dodging hazards and defeating Robotnik's Badnicks. However, finding the Chaos Emeralds will take trial and error, as the game tends to put them in hard to reach places where missing will require you to die or reset the game (especially the one in Sky High Zone Act 2, which is so high in the air, it's almost impossible to get unless you find the right clouds to bounce off, and one miss will drop you out of its reach). Also, each third act has no rings, giving you no protection against the bosses. However, if you managed to collect all five Chaos Emeralds before the final level, you will get a sixth one and access to a seventh zone, where the true final boss awaits. This is one game that will take trial and error to get the good ending.
