Oddly satisfying

Mind bending and quirky, this sci-fi is unpretentious and funny. Kevin Hogg draws you into his odd world of aliens, sibling relationships, and bizarre characters. The acting is sometimes subdued and cryptic at times but also childlike and silly. The scene with Dale Kentner, where he's searching a room for his brother, looking around up at the ceiling is adorable. The special effects are a labour of love from Hogg, though not highly polished, they support the films homey feel. Reminiscent of Eraserhead in some ways, but not derivative. I felt presence of the ominous "jam", was a binding force rather than a viscous barrier, but the dichotomy is open to the viewer to discover.
