Funny moments
travisjamesivey7 June 2020
I really enjoyed the film's cinematography and cast. I am a huge fan of Alex Ferrari, so I may be biased, but I thought for the resources they had for the flick, it was inspirational and entertaining.

Good premise awful execution
jroyals-043411 September 2021
Wow, check out all the glowing reviews that dropped in October 2019! I tried watching this dreck in 2021 and it is just a bunch of random conversations bereft of any laughter or charm from the main characters. The writing is poor as well as the supposed funny lines fall flat while the pretentious characters keep spewing lines clearly pleased with themselves.

I so was able to relate to the protagonist
jblockbuster25 October 2019
The lead actress is adorable and I could so relate to her. She wants to succeed, but it's so hard to adapt in this fast pacing world, specifically if you didn't grow up with social media. Funny, loveable, a cute indie comedy worth checking out!

The Female Everyman
TheAll-SeeingI15 October 2019
"This Is Meg" marries a fantastic premise with truly knockout execution in a film about a working comedienne/actress and her rough adjustment to today's fame engine now being almost entirely driven by the bewildering forces of social media.

Jill-Michele Melean is our Meg in question, and the casting folks truly nailed it here, as Melean's elite work is as hilarious as it is refreshingly authentic. Taking initial stock of both her professional and personal life, none of the right boxes are checked for Meg, and therein rests the film's transcendent application to a mass audience: Melean deftly elevates Meg into a nuanced symbol of our nearly universal plight to find some internalized comfort in the everyday present.

In the end, "This Is Meg" manages to succeed both as a literal laugh-out-loud comedy, and as a comforting reflection of our struggles to shrug off the weight of our previous expectations while embracing instead what the given moment has to offer. "Keep running!"

Relevant comedy!
AKamp7928 October 2019
It's fun to see a film by the guy who runs Indie Film Hustle! And he's made a great film! It's a comedy that reflects the changing nature of society, driven by social media and the number of 'likes' you get / number of 'followers' you have. In this case, it is Meg who must face this challenge as she struggles in this new world to 'make it'. Definitely worth checking out and supporting great Indie filmmakers like Alex!

Great Satire of Hollywood and the Actor Life
turrou-66-90704825 October 2019
This movie is for anyone who's felt the pain of choosing to do something difficult and dealing with yourself in the process. It's a funny satire about Los Angeles and the things we go through to achieve our dreams and find ourselves. Felt like a Duplass Brothers film (in a good way). The film leads up to an event that I won't spoil, but it's REALLY funny, and had some great acting- especially Carlos Alazraqui and Debra Wilson. Enjoy!

celebrity culture in a refreshing and fun anyway
caseykilloran17 October 2019
This film tackles celebrity culture in a refreshing and fun anyway. This indie film has heart. I like it how it was told from a comics perspective you were able to see even more how crazy new media entertainment and fame really is. This movie took some chances and I think it paid off big time. I enjoyed it.

It's funny because.........it's true!
voitekpendrak25 October 2019
I started having some reservations at first but then.....I started realizing that I'm pretty much looking at many of my friends who face the same problems. I know it because I see them every week and hear the same stories. The film doesn't try to take a philosophical spin on the entertainment industry. It just simply shows us to what ludicrous extent people are willing to go to fulfil their dreams and the ludicrous extent others are going so it doesn't happen.

It's a fun film to watch where Jill-Michele does excellent job making Meg's character very believable.

An extremely fun and amusing film to watch
michael-gz18 October 2019
A fantastically tickle me funny comedy that follows a comedienne (Meg) as she adamantly rejects having to adapt to new ways of promoting herself in the industry, as she constantly struggles to make her mark in todays "façade" of hyped-up social media madness. It's definitely an amusing film to watch, no doubt about it.

Real, relevant lighthearted flick.
lbruhnca10 December 2019
A fun indie film about personal perceptions of yourself, of what others thinks of us. Actresses and actors and anyone pursuing a career in the spotlight will relate to this film, which apparently is based on true events. This is about Meg who is at the age of 20s/30s, are at the height of pursuing her dreams, figuring out her path and place in the world, and social media's place in her world. What's a girl to do?

Smart concept!
Ink78914 November 2019
Was listening to the Indie Film Hustle podcast and learned about this film. Not a surprise that the guy behind Indie Film Hustle would come up with such a brilliantly designed production. Hilarious, free flowing comedy. Smart concept, well executed. Great commentary of the influence of social media on those seeking a role in the public eye.

Adapt or die!
debijohess25 October 2019
Poor Meg is learning the hard way that you must adapt or die! It's not easy navigating the world of Hollywood movie life. Meg is living in the past and being hit head on with changing her promotional self to current standards, which do not sit well with her. With an excellent script and outstanding actor performances, This Is Meg is a mega delightful and funny film that is sure to tickle even the most dead funny bone. It did mine and I suggest you give it a watch. Great production values as well to boot! Great job Alex Ferrari and team!

I'm not an easy laugh but found myself laughing throughout this movie. The struggles of the man character and the amount of LA in this LA movie is hilarious and quite enjoyable. Great acting and a fresh perspective. Glad I checked it out!

Fun, Honest Indie Comedy
JGReviews18 October 2019
This is Meg is a new release indie comedy that I found on Amazon Prime. This is a fun little comedy with an honest core and I have to say I definitely enjoyed watching this movie. Meg is struggling to make it in Hollywood and her challenges are not unheard of. We're all aware of the challenges facing actresses as they get older or if they're not rail thin, which are obviously unfair. This is Meg approaches these difficulties in an amusing way. I've found that laughs can sometimes be hard to come by in some indie comedies, but I laughed quite a bit during This is Meg. The scene where everyone takes ayahuasca is very good. There's several good comedic performances in This is Meg. If you're looking for a relevant indie comedy, I'd recommend watching This is Meg.

A fun look at the real life trials of actresses and those that pursue a career in the crazy world that is filmmaking. I enjoyed this one a lot. It was really professionally done while maintaining a unique indie voice. Lots of familiar faces pop up as well. :)

Hilarious independent comedy!
Anmer9316 October 2019
A hilarious independent comedy. Very well observed with a fantastic leading lady, her charming and endearing performance makes it easy to spend time in her company, even when she's not really doing much. Well directed and handsomely shot with poignant moments of observation. Well worth the time.
