The Bleakest Episode in All of Gintama
FruitsPunchSamurai232329 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Gintama has consistently done a great job of evoking powerful emotions despite being mostly comedic, but this episode has done this in a way I haven't seen from this show before. The reason for this is due to its consistently bleak tone. Seeing how the death of the Shogun and Kondo's arrest has taken its toll on all the characters was nothing short of heartbreaking. This along with the suprising absense of humor found in even the most emotional of episodes makes for a very depressing episode with the bleakest outlook possible. Despite its depressing nature I absolutely loved this episode and how unique it is when comparing it to the rest of Gintama; and it couldn't have started this masterpiece of an arc in a better way.
