One of the best anime believe me But the reason i will give 9 Star is last 2 episodes seemed to be very rushed Despite that i really wanted to see satoru and kayo to be with each other, 😢😢 that disappointed me.

In the series finale, Satoru and Yashiro face off once more and we see who ends up the ultimate victor.
Amari-Sali24 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
In the end, Satoru and Yashiro are like the Joker and Batman. Yashiro is like a more sophisticated Joker. A crazed maniac hell- bent on breaking his adversary, yet at the same time can't live without him. His Batman, Satoru, is the one who challenges him, makes life worth living, and perhaps is the only person who truly knows him. So even with Yashiro pinning a new murder on Satoru, he can't have Satoru kill himself. No, that is Yashiro's job, he has to win in the long run, but ultimately he doesn't. For Satoru was prepared for Yashiro and despite how fearful things seemed, he set Yashiro up and had a backup plan for if Yashiro discovered Satoru's cell phone. Leading to Satoru defeating Yashiro once and for all and us getting to see, one last time, everyone Satoru saved from death, imprisonment, and more. Though perhaps the most emotional moment was seeing Airi at the end. For while she likely is still too young for Satoru, considering she was one of the first people, outside of his mom, of course, to really believe in him, and that has been one of the driving forces for him, especially in his former fate line, to see her once again sort of meant he truly has won.

Things To Note

While likely too young for Satoru, it is hard to not think that perhaps Airi might be the one for him. After all, what are the chances of him meeting her after all he has changed? For not only has he saved his friends and even Misato who he wasn't really friends with but now he is working as a manga artist. One whose manga was adapted into an anime. So for him to meet Airi under a bridge, as she takes photographs, has to mean something right? Perhaps part of Satoru's reward for being a hero instead of a coward or, to put it more kindly, someone who during his childhood was formerly passive.

Highlights

Satoru's triumph over Yashiro really made me think, for a few moments, Satoru was going to commit suicide just so Yashiro ultimately wouldn't win. But when you realized Satoru's grand scheme, oh it was so satisfying.

Seeing every last person Satoru saved made for good closure, especially seeing him with Airi in the end.

There was a quick note about Satoru's dad leaving after he was born and, for me, that cleared up one question I had in my mind.

On The Fence

A part of me wishes that we got to see Airi and Satoru together a little bit more. For while the age difference does give me pause, who is to say she isn't older than she was before? Plus, with damn near most of Satoru's friends now with someone, it would be nice if he had someone too.

Also, I sort of wished they would had followed up on Kimo and said if she survived the surgery and showed us Yashiro in the position Yuuki was in the other fate line.

Question(s) Left Unanswered

Satoru notes in the end that the revival hasn't happened much, but that doesn't mean it hasn't at all. So, what has happened as of late when that butterfly comes around?

How did Satoru keep a journal from a different fate line in which it seems he didn't befriend Kenya and the rest of his crew? Or was that journal from right before he really befriended everyone?

Good episode to end a great series
Luisvtw9 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Treasure" is the last episode of this beautiful series. Satoru and his trusted friends help him to finally arrest Yashiro. It's so good to see everyone being happy and Sakoru has his dream job. At the end we see Satoru at his hideout under the bridge when he fled from the police a butterfly flies by and Airi approaches him but she don't remember him so does that mean something will happen? Whit this question the series ends.

Recap: Erased episode 12 or the final episode of the series starts with a flashback of Kayo. She comes to visit Satoru and is grateful for his 'sacrifices' and help. Later, his friends Kenya and Hiromi comes to visit and he reveals that he has regained his lost memories. He tells both of them that Yashiro is the killer. Kenya has already suspected Yashiro but now he knows that he is right. Satoru notes that the evidence of all his crime is gone as it has been 15 years. Satoru tries to come up with a plan on his own but his thoughts are interrupted by Kenya who lets Satoru know that he does not have to carry the burden alone.

Afterwards, when Satoru's mother comes to visit him, he tries to tell her that he has regained his lost memories. But his mother understood even before Satoru has the chance to complete his sentence. She supports his decision to "hold the bull by its horns". The scene then focuses on the present- the confrontation between Yashiro and Satoru. Yashiro had made a plan to kill Kumi and make it look like Satoru had committed the crime. There is an exchange of beliefs and ideologies between them. Yashiro brags about the fact that he cannot be arrested due to a lack of evidence from fifteen years ago. He threatens to throw Satoru from the roof and make it look like suicide but is not deceived and tells him that he can't live without him.

Satoru throws himself off the roof but is caught by Yashiro. Yashiro confirms that Satoru is the reason he feels alive. Yashiro lets go of the wheelchair and the chair falls on the ground with a large thud. He was about to jump off the roof when he finds out that Satoru is caught by his friends and is safe and unharmed. They have got the evidence and Yashiro is sent behind the bars. A few years later, Satoru becomes a successful manga artist and enjoys his life with his friends. One day, he meets Airi under the same bridge from where he disappeared during his last revival.

Disappointing Ending
ArcticZombieYT12 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly the ending didn't bug me too much, but the show sets up this relationship between Satoru and kayo, so it just doesn't give enough closure for it. The show could've been better if it had more episodes since they tried to fit too much information into the last episode.

The buildup towards the ending itself was extremely well executed, but this ending itself was quite a disappointing.

One of the worst endings ever
agedftw4 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This ending was absolute garbage. For the whole show it sets up the relationship between Kayo and Satoru, but then at the end Kayo marries this random kid, and the audience receives 0 closure. I cannot tell you how frustrating this is. Other then the ending, the show is very good and entertaining, but the ending just killed the show.

Good ending where the character but one thing is missing and that ruins it mostly for me
kingamethe5 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I so desperately wanted to see for most of the series some sort of flash forward after he saves her, where they are married and together. If they got together in the end it would have been perfect but that was not case. Because of this I felt really dissatisfied with the end.
