The whole kitchen sink is being thrown at us on this gold show

Warning: Spoilers
I only watched the premier episode so far and can see where this ones going. There's parts of Survivor, Oak Island, The X-files, Mysteries at Whatever...it's truly amazing how they'll try to copy the winning aspects of every show out there. Into a gold show.

There's only one problem. We already have shows that find/mine tons of gold! The shows where people run around "trying" to find gold have died quick deaths because unlike Finding Bigfoot, this show is up against shows that HAVE FOUND gold and are profiting from it. So all these searching for gold types of shows have going for them is the mystery of the legend. And that means they don't really want to find gold, they just want to find viewers! Think about it, the show ends if they actually hit a good spot! There would be no more to it.

So every week they'll pursue some "new found" info, like a map, or an article in an old paper, or a guy showing up with information, or symbols carved on rocks, or a few flakes in a pan.

So like Finding Bigfoot and Oak Island these people aren't really trying to find SUBSTANTIAL evidence/gold, they just want to fake finding enough to get you to keep watching.

In the first episode they have the team going down a river full of rapids and outcropping of rocks in a supposedly very remote area. In a regular power boat, not one designed for this kind of water travel! They end up giving up because the rapids got too intense. Here's the problem with this faked scenario.. How did they get the boat back? Helicopter???? No, more likely its just a faked scene in a not so remote area, where they could drive a pickup and trailer right to the boat and pick it up.

Drama? Ohh yeah, a guy blindsiding his entire team in the first episode means they're going to be heaping that on too.

So you've been warned!

It of course got cancelled, and the other 2 "reviewers" of course were fake shills who only joined IMDb and did one thing, Wrote reviews about how this was the greatest TV show on Earth..lol.

Idiotic and boring truly... I enjoyed "gold rush", "gold divers" and it's spin off's like "Dave Turin's lost mines"... but those might be the only ones worth watching... meaning that seen all that discovery+ has to offer...

Awesome Show

There's many to reality shows out here on TV about seeking gold, but this is one that is based on a Canadian Legend, The Legend of Slumac and his hidden treasures and gold. When I first seen the add for the show I thought oh no not another gold show, but decided to give it a shot. This show had me intrigued from the first episode. It had me wanting to learn more. Had me thinking, oh where could it be hidden. I found myself waiting for the next weekly episode. This is a great show. Not only is there a good cast of folks, but it also has beautiful scenery and teaches you the history of such a beautiful country of Canada and it has you wondering where Slumac hid his riches. I find myself hoping that there will be another season. 2 thumbs up for this show.

Loved It and Learned About the North Country Gold!

There are many prospectors around the world who love searching for gold and we all enjoy watching many of the gold-related TV shows. This one comes in as one of the better productions since it is based on true, real-life events with real miners who are not scripted or actors.

The camera work is spectacular and there is plenty of mystery and story line to keep you watching. I personally watched every episode and just talking about it is making me want to go back and watch them again. I truly hope the Executive Producers will invest in another season of this great show.

Thanks Daryl, Greg and everyone involved, we loved it.
