The fashionable and evil Cruella De Vil graces collectors with her presence thanks to a new Darkness Descends Series doll from Mattel. This may be the best the One Hundred and One Dalmatians character has ever looked since Glenn Close played her in 1996.
The doll, priced at $100, will be available for pre-order at 9 Am Pt on May 6.
The best part of this doll is the packaging. While Cruella may be glamorous in doll form, the back of her box showcases the villainess we know from the classic 1961 film.
Yes, they put that terrifying Medusa-like image of Cruella on the back of the collector’s box. Oh, if only the doll had an alternate head with that nightmare-inducing face.
“From Disney’s 1961 film ‘One Hundred and One Dalmatians,’ Cruella De Vil will stop at nothing to own the ultimate fur coat. This special collector doll celebrates Cruella’s transformation from miserable to maniacal,...

Lara emphasised that Ott inspires a greater representation of characters, particularly bringing “real” characters to the forefront.
Elaborating on this, the actress told Ians: “The wonderful thing about Ott is that because there are so many platforms, you are addressing different segments of an audience. You have to create content that speaks to all of them.”

New Delhi, July 14 (Ians) Former Australia men’s coach Justin Langer was on Friday appointed as the new head coach of Indian Premier League (Ipl) side Lucknow Super Giants.
Langer will replace Andy Flower, whose two-year contract with the franchise came to an end after the Ipl 2023 season.
“Lucknow Super Giants are on the journey of building a great story in the Ipl. We all have a role to play in that journey and I am excited to be a part of the team moving forward,” said Langer in a statement issued by the franchise.
The 52-year old Langer has rich experience of coaching in T20 cricket, but he will be coaching in the Ipl for the first time. He coached Perth Scorchers to three Big Bash League titles, apart from being at the helm when Australia won the Men’s T20 World Cup title in 2021 in the UAE.

“I think something’s wrong with Piglet! He just killed my wife!”
In two sentences, Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) manages to silence anyone who complains that we don’t produce iconic movie quotes anymore while pretty much summarizing everything that’s worth knowing about “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.” It’s Pooh and Piglet, but they’re evil.
We all know the story of Christopher Robin and his anthropomorphic animal friends who play in the Hundred Acre Wood. But A.A. Milne’s beloved children’s books never address what happens after Christopher inevitably grows up. Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s microbudget slasher flick attempts to fill that gap in the mythology, complete with an animated opening sequence revealing that Pooh and Piglet began starving to death after Christopher left for medical school and eventually made the decision to kill and eat Eeyore to stay alive.
But it’s very hard to commit just one murder,...

Record of Ragnarok in an animation series written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. It is based on the manga by Shinya Umemura, Ajichika and Takumi Fukui.
This is an anime series with all the features to please the fans of this style, in the best “fighter series” style, this time, between humans and divine beings that is wagered in a combat called “Ragnarok” where the existence of Humanity is at stake.
Classic art that clearly is reminiscdent of some of the landmarks of the genre, a series created with the aim of pleasing the more classic fans of these stories rather than breaking away from the genre. It does not want to create a revolution in anime, it seeks the more classic aspects to offer the spectator a festival, served with humor that had its audience in the successful first season and which hopes to repeat in this second season which surely offers great new features.

London, Sep 2 (Ians) The England and Wales Cricket Board (Ecb) have included Phil Salt in their squad for the Icc T20 World Cup in Australia later this year with Jason Roy missing from the 15-member group following an unimpressive run for the national side and in The Hundred.
The prolonged lean run of Roy, which has seen him score just 206 runs at 18.72 in the 11 T20Is he’s played since the previous edition of the Icc T20 World Cup in the UAE last year, is being attributed as the reason for Salt’s inclusion. Salt had made his T20I debut earlier this year.
Salt has been rewarded for his strong domestic form in the ongoing The Hundred tournament, where he is among the top run-getters. He is at No.2 with 313 runs in eight games, averaging 44.71.

Melbourne, Aug 24 (Ians) Former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist believes Afghanistan’s charismatic spinner Rashid Khan could start a bidding war among franchises when the Big Bash League (Bbl) Player Draft is held on August 28.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan, one of the key players in Gujarat Titans’ Ipl 2022 title triumph, has spent the last five tournaments with the Adelaide Strikers and if reports emerging ahead of the Draft are any indication, the 23-year-old could be the subject of a bidding war between franchises.
The Melbourne Renegades hold the first pick in the Bbl-12 Draft.
“My tip, the Melbourne Renegades have first pick, I think they’ll maybe go for Rashid Khan, which will then force the Adelaide Striker’s hand to retain him if they want to play that card,” the legendary Australian cricketer told Sen’s Whateley on Wednesday.

Mumbai, Aug 19 (Ians) India on Friday announced the women’s Odi and T20I squads for England tour, which begins on September 10.
Both teams will be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur with senior fast bowler Jhulan Goswami making a comeback in the Odi squad. The 39-year-old Goswami had missed the tour of Sri Lanka in July amid speculations about her international future.
Meanwhile, Kiran Navgire – the batter from Maharashtra who plays for Nagaland – who made an impression at domestic level and in the Women’s T20 Challenge earlier this year, received her maiden call-up to India’s T20I squad.
On the other hand, Jemimah Rodrigues, who was ruled out of The Hundred in England with a wrist injury, was named in both squads.

It's the end of the world as we know it on Riverdale Season 6 Episode 22. Or was it just the start of the next big mystery?
Bailey's Comet came charging in to tease the town of Riverdale's last day.
Goodbyes, reunions, and strong character growth were all on the table for this spectacular chapter. If this chapter had been the series finale, it would've ended on a sweet note.
"Chapter One Hundred and Seventeen: Night of the Comet" carried the weight of Riverdale's six seasons to serve a tender and satisfying season finale.
For a casual fan jumping into the chapter, they could've believed this was the series finale. Between the big couple moments, the emotional scenes, and the farewells, the overall tone seemed like an ending of sorts.
In a way, Riverdale was saying goodbye to the past and looking to the future.
Most of this could've been driven by...

Almost anything gets a horror treatment these days. And unfortunately, the next in line happens to be the beloved children’s book character Winnie The Pooh. After A.A. Milne’s 1926 original stories about the tubby little cubby fell into the public domain almost half a year ago, some UK filmmakers got a bad idea. The result? “Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey,” Winnie and Piglet’s first slasher movie.

You never know what you'll find hiding away in the fog. In the case of Riverdale Season 6 Episode 12, it was a whole lotta truth.
Riverdale cleared up some looming questions and plot threads in this somber chapter.
Everyone from the main group got their time in the shine. And while the pacing took a huge pause, we did get some movement in their plots, which is a move that will always be welcomed.
"Chapter One Hundred and Seven: In the Fog" was an interesting episode where the pacing felt like nothing major happened. However, when we unpack it all, these characters had some big moments.
It's a standstill chapter. It had a structure where there were many little bubble plots but not an overarching plot with many characters.
This style works when there are quick scenes or moments we need to get past for the story. Since this was nothing but bubble plots,...

This The Gilded Age review contains spoilers for “Never the New.”
The Gilded Age‘s two-part premiere episode is 90 minutes of epic period drama world-building. In the new HBO series, creator Julian Fellowes melds many of the storytelling tropes and elements that made Downton Abbey a worldwide hit with a less explored decade in American history into a story that delivers on the social drama and historical recreation. Let’s talk about “Never the New, Parts 1 & 2.”
The Gilded Age Setting
The Gilded Age‘s setting is 1882 New York City, a city of rapid changes in both society and industry. Thousands of new residents arrive either from other places in America or from around the world. The Industrial Revolution created a new class of millionaires and billionaires to challenge the generational wealth of the oldest families. As these elites gained wealth, the gap between the richest and the poorest Americans increased exponentially.

Sean Baker blew audiences away when he arrived in Cannes with the gorgeous Florida Project, so his latest feature, showing in Cannes in the main competition, was one of the most eagerly awaited films of the festival. And while it contains elements that will be familiar to those who have watched his previous films, Red Rocket lacks one essential ingredient to bind and those elements and make them rise to those anticipated heights.
Some of Baker’s trademark filmmaking is here, in particular the absolutely sumptuous colours that light up the screen. The candy-coloured houses and stores are so vibrant and cartoonish that it seems impossible they exist in real life, yet Baker seeks them out and uses them to beautiful chromatic effect. Here, though, the film is grainier than in his previous work.
The story centres on a man Mikey Saber (Simon Rex) who arrives in Texas City, stony broke and beaten up.

New Delhi, May 21 (Ians) The England and Wales Cricket Board (Ecb) may not entertain any possible request from the Indian cricket board to advance the five-match Test series between Indian and England to ensure that The Hundred does not lose any more sheen, it has been learnt.
The Hundred begins on July 21 while the Test series starts on August 4. While Ecb told Ians on Friday that it has not received a request from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (Bcci) to advance the Test series, there has been speculation that it may want the series to finish earlier than September 14 so as to get 20-...

The Women cops has always been a character that induced intrigue in Hindi cinematic entertainment. Bollywood has glamorised the prototype in commercial cinema in the past. From Rekha, Hema Malini and Sridevi to Tabu, Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra, many actresses have kicked butt of societal evil with larger-than-life elan, just as their male counterparts did.
With the advent of Ott in recent times, the swing has been towards realism in portraying the role. Shefali Shah and Rasika Dugal in "Delhi Crime" paved the way, and in 2021 a whole lot of new actresses will don the uniform to cut a realistic figure as lawkeepers.

Paul McCartney, McCartney III
Every decade should kick off with a Paul McCartney one-man-band album — and this one needs it more than most. McCartney III carries on his tradition of homemade solo records, in the mode of his acoustic 1970 debut and his 1980 synth-pop oddity McCartney II.

Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes made his bones playing a version of boy pop that was more James Taylor than Justin Bieber — strumming his acoustic guitar and singing earnestly about the battle scars of romance. He was a dress-shirt-and-sport-coat guy in a sleeve-tat world, and on his self-titled third LP, from 2018, he continued to grow, carefully making the transition to adult themes as he mixed rock moves, Prince-ly vocals, and lyrics about hookups that he hoped might become something bigger.
The deluxe edition of Shawn Mendes tacked on “Señorita,” his steamy hit with girlfriend Camila Cabello.

When the Japanese Imperial Army laid siege to an innocuous warehouse in 1937’s Battle of Shanghai, the skirmish ultimately became a flashpoint that galvanized a nation. China lost that battle but won the war, and the resistance of the Eight Hundred Heroes earned the legendary status it retains to this day.
Sixth-generation director Guan Hu’s retelling of that moment in contemporary Chinese history, The Eight Hundred, is finally making its way to cinemas after drama of its own. Suddenly, and mysteriously, yanked from its opening-night slot at last year’s Shanghai International Film Festival — for “technical reasons” — it was ...

Kenny Rogers always knew when to hold them, when to fold them, when to walk away, when to run. The beloved country-pop stud died Friday night at 81, after a career full of hits that defined his silver-fox mystique. Kenny was barely north of 40 when he sang his signature song, “The Gambler” in 1978, but he came on like a grizzled old sage who’d seen it all. His hits were full of sensually growled wisdom: walk away from trouble when you can, don’t fall in love with a dreamer, never...

Updated with more detail: Amid the escalating outbreak of the deadly coronavirus — and in an unprecedented move — Chinese producers and distributors have cancelled the local release of all films set for the Lunar New Year period that begins this weekend. There were seven potential blockbusters due to hit Middle Kingdom theaters, kicking off what is annually a highly lucrative session at local turnstiles, but the government has warned people not to congregate in crowded areas and producers are understood to have made the decision to delay releases given the potential risk of spreading the disease. It is estimated that over $77M worth of tickets had already been pre-sold for the coming week.
Chinese health authorities announced today that 571 confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the virus had been reported in 25 provincial-level regions, while 17 people have died. This morning, the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak originated, was placed on lockdown...

Khalid Robinson’s 2017 debut LP, American Teen, was a coming-of-age record that made young-dumb brokeness feel like the only way to go. At 19, Khalid had appeared on tracks by Kendrick Lamar and Future, and he was tight with Kylie Jenner. Yet he perfectly inhabited the world of an average high school kid as he tried to make sense of his messy emotions over Eighties-loving R&B tracks. The results reduced Drake-size ambition to the relatable scale of a dude who sang about living with his folks.
