Death is death.

Warning: Spoilers
There is unexplained apocalypse where the food is gone (people don't eat but walk around healthy and most are said to be "fat"). We are given a quote from Revelation which explains nothing other than people are marked. We get an inkling as to what is going on near the end.

The film focuses on two sister who are not marked and are making their way toward the coast where they expect to find something besides sand. The coast appears to be the substitute for an island in zombie films. Meanwhile a sniper is hunting them. There is a futile discussion of free will and it appears the one girl had an abortion which doesn't factor in, but may be significant to those who take a modern anachronistic view of Revelation.

I am not sure how the sister is rescued or where she is located in relating this flashback as an older woman. The film has significant plot gaps to go along with the bad acting and horrible dialogue.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity...even after 3 bad guys made a girl undress during the "end times."

Worst movie I've seen in years

Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, I love post-apocalyptic movies. They're my go to. I'm extra forgiving for movies in this genre. However, this was the worst movie I've seen in years. The characters were all stupid and unlikable. All of them! From the ungrateful woman who is rude to the man who saved her life to her idiot savior who she betrays none of it makes any sense.

Apparently marshals are all around waiting to kill anyone without a barcode but do any of the characters seems at all concerned? Of course not, they walk into traps and then act surprised when they're captured or shot.

Then ancillary characters make even less sense. The woman with the house of French maids with smeared mascara at least added inadvertent humor to a humorless and nonsensical movie. The French assassin shoots one of the sisters when she reaches the coast and then chooses to strangle the other just enough for her to pass out and wake up and strangle him to death before a boat comes to pick her up. Oops, I spoiled the ending. Now you don't have to see it, you're welcome.

Even the points the director tried to make were muddled and stupid. One of the sisters would, "do anything to get to the coast." She turned on her partner in an incredibly stupid fashion that bought her ten minutes? Seriously, who wrote this garbage?

I made an account to rate this movie specifically because it's just that bad and it does not deserve the 5 start review. The only redeeming factor is that some of the cinematography was well shot on a seemingly limited budget but it still gets 1 star from me because this movie is the worst.

Very Artful style

If you're a Marvel multi billion dollar movie guy, don't watch this. If you love indie flicks, watch this. Very artistic in thought. The poster is a tad mis leading but the movie isn't really that bad.

Spare, grim, and effective

Warning: Spoilers
Sisters Natalie and Sarah West find themselves separated in a harsh world that's been reduced to savagery by an apocalyptic event. Both sisters must fight for survival in a deadly and dangerous landscape as they try to be reunited.

Writer/director Brett Bentman relates the absorbing story at a measured pace, maintains an appropriately grim'n'gritty tone throughout, makes nice use of various desolate locations, utilizes a simple stripped-down style which in turn gives the picture a certain lived-in persuasive quality, and brings an overall strong feeling of melancholy as assorted people struggle to keep some semblance of humanity in an unforgivingly brutal environment. Katie Kohler and Ashlyn McEvers are convincing as the weary and hard-bitten sisters, Lance De Los Santos contributes an excellent turn as the helpful Hugo, Nellie Sciutto cuts a frightening figure as a relentless hunter, Todd Jenkins likewise impresses as the ruthless, but pragmatic Roger, and Tiffany Heath vamps it up nicely as the wicked the General. The sad ending packs a devastating emotional punch. A real potent little film.
